A MUST-HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO MUST UNDERGO BRAIN SURGERY.
I know what you're thinking; Brain surgery? This reviewer must have gotten the review mixed up with his review for another product. Clearly, a coat rack has nothing to do with brain surgery.Au contraire mon Ami.Okay, now you're thinking: French? This reviewer not only has his products mixed up, he doesn't know what country he's in.Okay, okay, I'll stop fooling around. I know I'm not in France but reviewers have to have a little fun too. However, I'm quite serious about the brain surgery. 😁About 3 months ago I had a craniotomy. This was done to resolve a medical pvroblem called a subdural hematoma. Now, you're thinking: This reviewer has lost his mind. Brain surgery has nothing to do with a coat rack. But, if he had brain surgery, it could explain a lot. The surgeon might have gone a little too deep with his scalpel.Okay, I guess I'll have to connect the dots for you.The surgery was completely successful. However, as my surgeon forewarned me, I had a bad haircut afterwards. The reason is because he had to shave half of my head in order to perform the surgery. So, whether I shaved the other half to even it up, or I wait for the side that was shaved to catch up with the side that I still had hair on, I was going to be sporting a bad haircut for the next few months.Well, I'm not so vain of that I would refuse needed surgery in order to avoid a bad haircut. However, I am vain enough to wear a hat for the next few months in order to cover up this situation on my head. So, I went to Walmart and bought what is known as a Panama Hat. That's the hat at the top of the rack that you see the photo.During the next two weeks, I got three different unsolicited compliments about the hat. So, when I saw another hat at Sears that I liked, I bought it.During the next couple of weeks, I continued to get unsolicited compliments. Then, I dropped off some clothes to donate to the Goodwill Thrift Shop. While there, I looked around, and found two straw cowboy hats I liked, in like new condition, and I bought those. One of these hats needed to have the brim slightly reshaped. So I brought it to a local hat shop, and had them do this. While there, I asked if they ever had any sales. The person helping me said no but told me that they had a clearance center in another part of town. I went there and found a $50 hat marked down to only $20. At this point, I'm sure you can guess that I bought it.Well, now I had five hats and discovered that five hats take up a lot of space on a shelf. It's not like you can just shove them in a drawer like underwear. And, this brings me to the subject of the coat rack.Aaah, now you're starting to catch on, aren't you.I did a search for free-standing Hat Racks on Amazon. The search results contained both hat racks and coat racks. My concern for all of these racks was that, with the style of hats I had, I would not be able to use all of the pegs on all the racks. The pegs on the racks that I saw appeared to be too close together to be able to use all of them. It turned out that my concern was well-founded.On this rack, as you can see in the photo, I'm only able to use four of the six pegs. (For my 5th hat, I found a good place on the wall and attached the hook there.) However, from what I can see in the photos on Amazon, this rack holds at least as many hats as any of the other racks that I saw.At the price, I really like this coat/hat rack. It stands straight up and it doesn't wobble. The wood is an attractive blond color. Some reviewers have criticized this rack for being too lightweight. They say that you must balance the coats you put on it or it will tip over. They are correct that this free-standing rack will tip over if you pile a lot of coats on just one side. However, I've never seen a free-standing coat rack that would not do this. If I needed to pile big bunch of heavy winter coats on it, I would try to solve this problem by fastening it to the floor with either nails or glue or whatever. I suppose that there must be some heavy duty coat racks out there that will not tip over but I've never seen one and, if I did find one, it would probably be very expensive. All right, I think you now owe me an apology for thinking that I was out of my mind. 😋By the way, in case you're curious, the maximum rate of growth for hair is 1/2 inch per month. 😉

Highly recommend
Been using it for four years, between five different apartments. It’s spent a year and a half rattling around disassembled in my car trunk, it’s been assembled and taken apart again 10 times, and it’s had saltwater spilled all over it (long story). It’s gotten some minor cracks (probably from the salt water haha) but it’s still very sturdy and looks great. The one or two cracks I was able to patch up with shipping tape so you can’t even see them and they don’t cause problems.Super dependable and I definitely recommend!

Perfect for our guest room!
So easy to put together, very sturdy and looks perfect in our guest room! I needed something stylish but not large and bulky for our guests to hang their bags and coats for our Colorado winters and it is perfect!

Worth every penny!
Easy to assemble, followed instructions and it was standing up in 6 minutes. Beautiful material and quality looks much more expensive than it is. 100% worth it, you can’t find a better deal!

Simple and a good value
Needed something so our coats didn’t have to be outside. Easy to assemble. It’s light weight so if you put a bunch of heavy coats it will tip. Keep them balanced and it works fine.

Excellent Wooden Coat Rack Stand
This wooden coat rack stand is very attractive, incredibly easy to assemble (it takes possibly 10 minutes maximum and all the pieces are individually well-packed and clearly numbered or lettered and the instructions very clear and simple) and it appears quite sturdy. I took the extra precaution, noting other reviewers' suggestion to make certain it was on a flat, even surface, of backing two of its three legs against the wall and floor's skirting board and it has never wavered. With the summer, it will not get much use re coats, only with sunhats and brollies (the eternal English summer!) so I can't get gauge if it will stand up to constant usage but it does appear stable and sturdy as well as fitting in very well with our furniture. Very pleased indeed with it.

nice quality and seems really sturdy
I actually bought this to turn into a stand for a DIY dressform for sewing, and it's brilliant! The "teen" height is exactly the right height I needed to make the dressform the same height as me! It was really easy to assemble and feels really sturdy and good quality. The wood is a lovely colour and feel and I really like the asthetics of the design (as a coat stand as well as as a dressform stand!). I also liked how this modular assembly made the box surprisingly small and well packaged, compared with some other coat stands. I found the instructions clear to follow, although the construction is very self-explanatory and easy to figure out without them. Really good coat stand, especially for the price!

Good for what you pay
This coat stand is easy to put together. Some of the finish is rough around the edges, but it is not noticeable once it is assembled and in use.I use it as clothes rack in my bedroom and it stays up fine. If you were to use this as your main coat-rack with lots of heavy coats, I think it might become unstable. You'd be better off opting something with a heavier, more solid base. One little complaint is that the 2 sections with the hooks line up once they are screwed together. It would be better if they were slightly offset so that hanging items didn't get in the way of each other so much. You can achieve this by unscrewing it slightly, but then it's not fully tightened.

Very happy with purchase
Very happy with purchase. Obviously it is not the best quality money can buy, but you get what you paid for. The assembly is 2 minutes, no tools. It looks very nice, if you don't pay too much attention to details. I should have bought one earlier, makes life easier and the home tidier.
