Dog loves it!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. So far, so good. Our last one was a little cheaper and broke instantly so we were happy to see this one work right away. The dog figured it out instantly and seems to love it!

Awesome dog ball thrower
Love this ball launcher! It's very well made and easy to move around. The bulit-in rechargeable battery is awesome, it means I don't have to drag an extension cord out into the yard when I want to play with my dog.The app isn't the greatest, but that's not what I really use it for. This is perfect for medium to large dogs (40 lbs+ I would guess), and it's very easy for the dogs to return the ball to the launcher themselves as the "funnel" is very large.

Good product. Worth it.
It's kind of picky once the balls get chewed up & full of saliva, but my Shepherd got it down after just a few days (taking a couple of direct hits to the muzzle😂). Works better (throws farther longer) when plugged in, but is still ok on battery power. Very easy & simple to operate. Moving parts are pretty inaccessible, which is a good thing. Dog drops the ball in the top hopper, it hits a sensor, the throwing wheels activate (not unlike a football launcher), an audible beep sounds - which makes my dog take off running - then the sensor retracts, dropping the ball into the already spinning throwing wheels. There are 3 distance settings, and a fourth option that randomly launches at one of the 3distances, so as your dog doesn't get bored. I haven't actually measured, but the farthest distance I've achieved a seems to be a few dozen feet. Having a large breed dog, I wish I were able to find a unit that launched the ball a few dozen yards further, but I did my research and the reviews claim that this one tops it's competitors. My wife swears by it, as we have a very active & clingy 18 m/o GSD. So this keeps him busy while she's trying to get stuff done once in a while. A good investment.

While my dog(s) & I love the idea behind this product
While my dog(s) & I love the idea behind this product, there are pros & cons. I have one tennis ball obsessed pooch. Pros: 1) The dog can entertain herself. 2) I love seeing her joy at being able to play fetch on her own. 3) The funnel is huge & she learned how to drop the balls in there immediately (smart dog). 4) It's relatively stable & not readily knocked over. 5) You can charge it up & take it outside no batteries required!Cons: 1) The dog can only entertain herself for about 5 minutes, after which time the ball clogs in the launcher due to too much slobber inhibiting movement.. 2) The machine gets stuck in a hyper launching mode where it does not wait for a ball to be in the hopper to launch, it just constantly pulls back & fires, ball or no, & while it's doing that it gets LOUD...whirs & clicks & the motor seems to hit overdrive. It sounds like it's about to explode.I may have to return this unit due to the mechanical issue, especially in light of the price ($209).

I love the concept of this
I love the concept of this. My dog learned to use it easily and loved it. I received the 1st one of these and in just a day, my dog was using it. On the 3 rd day it broke- the manufacturer responded quickly, I sent it back and a new one was shipped to me. Again, my dog loved it- sadly in the 1st week the 2nd idogmate stopped working. It is difficult to clean, and there is no way to take it apart to clean the gears etc. If you want to use this item in the house, so it doesn't get dirt or mud- I think it would be great. For a hard playing, ball fanatic- I don't think this lasts long enough for the cost.

Don’t hesitate, buy this for you dog. It’s fantastic!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is amazing. My dog LOVES this launcher. She figured it out in one day. She is obsessed with tennis balls so this is perfect ! We play fetch at the dog park all the time but sometimes these Minnesota winters are simply TOO cold to be outside for any length of time. I didn’t open the package of balls that came with the machine in case I didn’t want to keep it. We have tennis balls all over the house that she uses. Any standard tennis ball is perfect. I use it only for indoor use as I want to keep it clean and nice. Outdoors I prefer to personally play with my dog and throw the ball myself with a ball tossing stick. This was the second machine I ordered. The first one was a little bit less expensive but it had way too many “safety” features that frustrated my dog and me both. Sent it back. This one, is perfect. I can’t think of anything negative thing to say about it. It’s super easy for the dog to load herself, it’s not loud, it’s stable in that it really can’t be knocked over, easy to carry around when necessary, and uses any standard tennis ball that you can buy anywhere. I highly recommend this unit. One funny thing however is the owners manual. Whoever wrote that book has an almost comical grasp of the English language.

Did not work at all. The plastic piece would never retract once the motor got up to speed so the ball would never drop into the shoot. The one I received was definitely defective.

Much improved
I received this from the manufacturers as a "gift" in the hope that I would change my previously damning reviews of their product. I have now used it almost every day for 6 weeks in conditions I'm pretty sure it's not designed for i.e. wet and very muddy. It has been able to cope well with all of these. As a quadriplegic paralysed from the neck down I'm sure that my needs may be somewhat more demanding than most. I've found that the batteries may not hold their charge to allow the advertised 40ft throwing distance - it's more like 20ft, but it's more than enough to keep my ball-obsessed dog happy for an hour's walk. I don't know if its been modified, but I'm MUCH more impressed than I was the last couple of times that I've bought this.
