They work great they absorb all oils and film that develop in your water

I got a package of two. I put one in my spa and like magic the water was clear the next day. Mind you I bought a 5 pack of filters and was changing them every 2 days trying to figure out why my water in my tiny 130 gallon spa would not clear. I used 25 test strips and made sure ph, and chlorine was right but nothing worked like this Scumball. I gave 5 stars even though one of my 2 pack was disfigured and only floats on one side therefore it only uses a small fraction of the surface area and I dont use it.

This thing was amazing, I usually have a gray ring around the top of our white fiberglass pool, this year I did not.. and I was able to rinse and it would continue to work. No more scrubbing the gray ring! The only downfall is when I had the skimmer open or basket removed my dog would take off with it.

Use in our hot tube. Leave it in all the time. Really keeps the water surface and the walls clean as it floats around in the current. To clean, I Soak Scumball once a week in a solution of Simple Green and hot tap water. Then I wring it out, rinse, wring out again and we're good to go for another week.

I recommend these be used if you use your hot tub daily. We use ours probably once a week and with the chlorine and the heat the scum balls fell apart quickly causing a mess to clean up. We had some of these a few years ago and they were very durable. Not sure if they’re made differently or the fact that were using different chemicals now but not the same as they used to be. I’d still recommend this product if somebody is using their tub every day. They work great to get the oils out and it makes the filter last longer.

These things are not really picking up anything from the top of the water. I let them float around for days and pick them up to check for oils, lotions, etc. Nothing. I must have the cleanest water around. These things are just to watch float around while you're soaking. They did turn yellow after the first days though. Clean, but yellow.

It really does work. I have bought them over and over. It reduces hot tub maintenance by collecting all the disgusting scum
