Very nice reel for the money
Just got the reel and after careful inspection I am very satisfied with this reel. I've been a life long Penn owner and since I fished saltwater I have had a Penn SS650, a SS750 and a SS850 for over 35 years... great reels and parts are still available. Now I'm retired so I bought this Daiwa to fish for bass and other freshwater species in FL and GA, and I wanted to change to Daiwa because I like the look, the reputation and the positive reviews. Since I believe fisherman catch fish not reels, I refuse to pay more than $100 for a freshwater reel. I've tried the expensive reels and this BG line has quality, looks, is a great value and is smooth as silk. Who knows I may buy a larger BG for saltwater when I can't get parts for my old Penn SS's. I bought a KastKing Perigee 7'1" M for this reel and I will need to fight and catch some fish to see if I like the rod.

Great reel
Heavy for its size but I guess it’s a trade off for durability. Very happy with this reel.

Quality
I thought this reel was good quality and I was surprised that some folks said it was heavy.I didn’t think so.I caught a 42 inch musky on 4 pound mono line while I was fishing for perch. It took me 20 minutes to land it and the drag worked great.

BUY IT
This is hands down the best reel for the price range. I do wish it had more than 4lbs of drag but with that said it’s handled hybrids, small mouth and large mouth with no problem. It’s very powerful. I have 20lb braid on it as well. I have bought other BG sizes now to replace my Shimanos. The body is super rigid and when you turn the handle you can feel quality. You definitely will not be disappointed.

Excellent reel!
This reel is the bomb... solid, smooth, strong... only gave 4 stars for durability as I haven't had it for long, so time will tell... but, if anything like my old Diawa, I'll have it for another 20 years...

Great value and amazing performance.
This reel is the best bang for your buck. Been using it for fresh and salt water for couple years now.I slack on my cleaning, ive dropped it in the sand, got salt water in it and it lives still. I did take it apart and give it a good cleaning not too long ago. My dumb butt didnt record taking it apart so I have a random bearing that should be in. No clue where, but thing hasnt skipped a beat.
