Like-New ASTRO A50 Wireless Headset—A Gamer's Dream Come True!
I purchased the refurbished ASTRO Gaming A50 Wireless Headset with Base Station Gen 4 for my son, an avid 18-year-old gamer, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Despite being refurbished, the headset arrived in pristine condition, with the packaging intact and everything looking brand new. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the box to share because my son tore it open immediately— he was that excited!According to my son, these are the best headphones he has ever used. The padding on the earphones is exceptionally comfortable for long gaming sessions, and the sound quality is crystal clear, enhancing the gaming experience with precise audio cues that are crucial in competitive gaming. The wireless functionality is a game changer, providing the freedom to move without getting tangled in wires, which is a huge plus during intense gaming sessions. The unidirectional microphone also delivers clear communication, a must-have for coordinating with teammates in online games. Overall, this headset has not only met but exceeded our expectations, making it a top recommendation for any serious gamer.

My Honest Review [0.1/10
Paid around $130 taxes and everything Refurbished Renewedin 2014 i got my first astros off Offerup/facebook marketplace A40 for ps3/pc , I loved them since I knew no better plus I remember paying 50 dollars for the headsets . i used them until 2018 and that is when I started getting more into good quality headsets for Gaming and Music I wanted something that could offer me good gaming sound surround and nice acoustics for when I want to listen to good music and or record my guitar or voice . IF YOU WANT THE SAME Sennheiser is your answer , Sennheiser Consumer Audio HD 599 Open Back AND NOW in 2024 I decided to give them a try again , ajajjaja my big mistake , well what can I say it is like eating on a nice restaurant for over a month and then going back to indian street food YOU can really tell the difference . The unit has audio interference were you can hear a weird clicking sound every now and then also , the headsets have a nice bass but lack in mids and lack of voice . For the price you can get a WAYYY better quality studio headsets that offer more then what the astros do , I get that the Gaming tagg Gets a lot of people but trust me it is not worth it , I was a kid once with the same dreams of getting the A50 astros but it is not worth it . 100 dollars yes 350 BIG NO . Im returning mines

Mostly great
I own a pair of A40's and ordered these for my girlfriend. They showed up with the original packaging but it was slightly ripped in some areas. Found there to be no manual but no big deal. Cables are in good shape.Biggest complaint would be that the top cushion on the headband came broken and wouldn't click in properly so just kept falling off, just went a head and super glued it. Audio sounds great, very comfortable, everything has that new smell to it/no scuffs so it's definitely not "overly used" or anything.

Headphones? Okay... Headset? No.
I was originally deciding between this and a SteelSeries headset, and I went with the Astro A50s thinking I was getting something high-end. At first, they seemed decent — but less than 6 months in, I’ve officially had enough. I just ordered a SteelSeries headset because I can’t deal with how frustrating this one has been. The biggest issue? The microphone is awful. No one can hear me clearly — I get constant complaints about my mic quality no matter what I’m doing. I've literally ended up using my cell phone as a microphone just so people can hear me in Discord. I even tried troubleshooting by opening the earcup and found exposed copper wires touching near the mic. I separated them with electrical tape, which helped for a bit, but the problem came right back. Sometimes a full PC restart will temporarily fix it, but that’s not exactly a solution. To make things worse, the top head strap started falling apart within a few weeks. The cushion tabs kept popping out, and apparently that’s a known issue. Most people are gluing it back together — which is just wild for a headset at this price. I gave up and used rubber bands to keep it together. To be fair, the audio itself sounds fine, and I do like the Astro Command Center with the EQ customization. But the wireless range is nothing to write home about — walk 50 feet with a wall in between and it cuts out.I’m giving it 3 stars only because the sound is passable and the software has some nice features. But between the falling-apart headband, the garbage mic, and needing to jerry-rig a premium headset just to make it work, I can’t recommend this. Wish I had gone with SteelSeries from the start.

Performance good, some quality aspects questionable
The performance is great but the cushion on top of the headpiece CONSTANTLY detached. I eventually fixed it with super glue, but a buyer should not have to rig a product to work properly. I heard this issue from many people who owned the A50's and they rigged theirs similarly. Sure enough it took me 10 minutes and never happened again, but come on..Occasionally I do get people telling me my mic sounds bad on Discord, and when checking my audio it sure enough does. A restart of the headset or PC usually does the trick in these cases. Overall headset is comfortable with good performance and can be issue-free with a touch of rigging it up.
