Versitile stands
I don't have a table saw so I use a portable bench saw or circular saw, which means I need in-feed/out-feed supports as well as horses when dealing with larger material. When shopping for a solution, these stands stood out. They have a clamping function that comes in handy for various projects. When they arrived and after seeing them in person, I realized how versatile they are. First of all, they are heavy duty and built well. One big advantage they give is the tripod design of the footing when working on uneven ground and the ability to level the support structure. Other stands with the 'T' foot design will rock and teeter. If you watch the presentation, you will see other aspects where these stands will be very helpful. I'm very happy with my purchase of 2 of these. I'll be using them extensively.

Simple, Ideal For My Shop Needs....
This does exactly what I hoped it would do at a price point that makes a lot of sense. I primarily needed another "hand" to deal with long lumber on my chop saw and table saw....bought two of them for that purpose. Happily, it does other things that are going to come in handy, such as pivoting at up to 90 degrees to hold things like doors in place as you hang hinges...I did not expect the built in clamp to be a vice, and its not....nor was it intended to be. It merely holds material in place to act as backers or braces for certain applications. If you want a vice -- buy one that says it is. If you need a third hand to stabilize items, hold cabinets in place against a wall, deal with longer material....this is a great tool.Assembly is about 12 seconds. Place the top half into the tripod and tighten. Done.

What you need to know before you buy the Rockwell JawStand
Overall I like this product. But two things you should know. (1) In the picture it may look like it has two 18" long jaws. But they don't move. There is a 1" wide moveable clamp that clamps things to one of those 18" jaws. It works...but not the way you would think from the picture. (2) They come in two pieces. The 3 legged stand and the part that moves up and down and fits into the stand. I could not get the part that is supposed to fit into the stand to go in because the band clamp that allows you to adjusts the height was deformed. I had to buy a 1 1/4" dowel and taper the end to get the upright to fit into the stand. I bought two of these and both had the same problem. Rockwell customer service was useless. I think anybody who would buy one of these could figure out a way around this...but of course it's annoying. That said, overall, I do like these and they are solid.

I am THRILLED
I am THRILLED with the Rockwell Jaw Stand!!!!!!!!!! Mind you, it's only been on one job for me (so far) but it's all that it promised to be! I should explain that I grew up in the construction world but due to circumstances beyond my control (one being, I'm now 4'8" tall LOL) I am limited to small jobs (teenie), mostly detail work but I haven't lost my fixation for fixing things. The jaw stand is currently holding up a door (albeit hollow core) while I reset the hinges (a job I can still do but It now takes me forever and the Jaw Stand has not jawed at me once (heeheehee)). I still need someone to put the door back up but hey, this is allowing me to still play a roll (no matter how small) in something I love to do. I, also, have a background that can allow me to see it's full potential and would recommend this tool to anyone in need of an extra pair of hands!

Make a great outfeed table.
I use these for wood working projects. I notched a 2x6 to create an out-feed platform for my table saw (see picture). Works great. When i'm not using them for the out-feed, I put a piece of plywood across the 2x6 they hold and make a work table. I know for a little extra money I could get the ones that have micro adjustment, but for what I use them for, a micro adjust isn't needed. Very help units and easy to use. Some of the reviewers said they are hard to adjust up and down. Mine work fine and don't stick at all. Very easy to adjust. Maybe I got lucky, or they corrected the problem. Either way, I'm happy i got them. I was planning to make my own until I saw how cheap these were. Couldn't pass the up.

Great idea-crappy build quality
This looks like a really nice product when one receives it. Unfortunately it is made in China. There are basically 2 non-assembled pieces (top bracket and bottom tripod). The rub: To assemble these two pieces together should take 5-10 seconds if it were made correctly. Nope. The inner friction ring on the tripod that tightens down on the top bracket stem was too small by about 1/8", requiring complete disassembly of the stem bracket and spreading it apart to allow the stem on the bracket to slide through it. Since the friction ring is too small even when the adjuster is basically loosened to the point of falling on the floor, it doesn't allow the stem on the bracket to slide upward from the tripod without force. To do this, one has to stand on the tripod legs to hold it down while lifting the top bracket to raise it upward. The result: the tripod legs fold downward and awkwardly the entire tool slips out from under your feet, while you unintentionally lift the entire tool off the ground. To combat this issue requires drilling each (3) tripod legs and slipping a bolt through the frame on each leg to keep them from collapsing while standing on the legs to lift the top piece to adjust its height. This all took about an hour to correct just because the manufacturing process/quality control is so poor. Hopefully one doesn't lift the upper assembly too high as it will pop out of the stem requiring the stem bracket to be disassembled again. I am going to add a "stop" at the bottom of the stem to keep this from happening. All in all a very impressive looking tool with too many issues that should be solved by the manufacturer, not the end user..
