FRYE Women's Lois Mary Jane Pump

These shoes are great! The leather is high quality and I love the low heel-- it's enough to give me some height, but it's still practical (taller ones hurt my feet). The leather was a little stiff out of the box but its softened up after wearing the shoes a few times. I've read that others don't like the fit of the strap, but I haven't had any problems with getting it to stay in place. I do think I have a slightly wider foot though.

Love the style of the shoe, the color is more like a taupe rather than grey. The heel is a little wide. I reordered a size up .

In defense of these gorgeous pumps with the terrible reputation for fit....I will say...the previous reviewers are right. The shoe runs narrow in the toe, wide in the heel, just the opposite of my foot. The leather is not exactly like wood, but is very stiff. I was so enamored of the Frye quality, the design of the shoe, and the potential for wearing this classic MJ with everything from jeans to party dresses to suits (and it works), that I spent $20 at a shoe shop getting a permanent leather heel cup sewn in, stretching it in the toe at home for many nights and then just plain wearing the heck out of them. Oh, I used Lexol to soften the leather. The result: a dream pair that I am not sorry I worked so much to bring to fruition. If you love this shoe, you still might not have to work as hard as I did to bring them up to speed, but if you do, they're worth it - they now fit beautifully, and I get many compliments. The lower heel is very comfy for walking even long hours. I'm looking for a second pair, might try the black next...

I'm so glad I disregarded the reviews and bought these shoes (in grey). I have somewhat narrow feet and these fit perfectly out of the box. I don't understand the reviews about them being stiff--I've worn them to work twice already and have been comfortable walking all day. The color is beautiful. I gave it one fewer star because, although my favorite pair of Frye boots are still made in the USA, these shoes and some other Frye shoes and boots I own are made in China. I hope Frye remains in the US.

I thought these shoes were beautiful. The length of the shoe was just right for me. However, the part of the covered portion of the shoe that goes over the toes was tight for me. Maybe these would work for someone with a thinner foot.
