It's simply....the bigger the ash plate, the quicker it is to clean out the ceramic grill. So, we super-sized the ash tool's plate - just small enough to comfortably slide in and out of the lower vent opening. The ash plate is laser cut from 11 ga. (1/8") stainless plate. The one piece handle is formed from 1/4" diameter stainless rod and designed to fit comfortably in your hand, up or down. Overall Tool length is 17". Use the Ash Tool to move hot lump or smoking wood around the firebox. 100% 304 grade Stainless Steel, so no special care needed, as with chrome or nickel plated steel.
