I loved it!!
I loved it!! It had a little of everything. This book made me feel all kinds of emotions!! Happy, sad, laugher, and anger. I grieved with the family. I felt their loss. I was happy when the H and h got together. I loved that they just laid their cards on the table and went from there. No fighting or keeping silly secrets. I worried when they were in danger. Was thrilled when they villains stressed and then when they got what was coming to them. I laughed out loud a few times. Jesse was precious. I wanted to be a part of this family. I could perfectly picture the mountain and town. Loved that the law enforcement didn't back down from doing the right thing.I won't be forgetting this book. Thank you Ms. Sala

Suspense, family, and romance - great story
This book is filled with all the family strength, love, trust, and loyalty that Sharon Sala is famous for. It also has a villainous family, with all the hatred, poison, and mistrust that does exist in this world when the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. The Youngblood family pulls together in crisis. They lost their father in tragedy. Their mother, Leigh, is one of the strongest characters I’ve met in a long time. The hero, Bowie, and heroine, Talia, both deserve the love they seek. This story has a great cast. I cried with them; I laughed with them. I celebrated their victories, and mourned their losses. I prayed for their continued strength; I feared for their lives when evil came after them. I was proud of them, and loved with them. Sharon Sala always draws emotion. Great read.

Sins can only stay hidden so long
I love the style and story telling technique of Sharon Sala. I know I am always going to get a good suspenseful book with a warm love story as a base. Family is important to Ms. Sala, that comes through in all of her books. In this book it is a two families against each other. A good mountain blood feud. The husband of Leigh Youngblood is killed, he writes the name of his killer, her maiden name. The family that had disowned her for marrying him and threatened 35 years ago to kill him. They are the richest family in Eden, the small town below the mountain the Youngbloods live on, basically own the law enforcement department, and everything else. The governor even called the county constable and the town Chief of Police to reminding them who the Wayne family was and to go slow and make sure they had evidence to back up any move they made. Bowie Youngblood, the oldest son is working on offshore oil rigs, but comes home immediately for his mother. She is strong women, raised five strong sons all with their father's long hair, only to have her youngest returned from the war with the mind of a ten year old. At one point she points out to Bowie that God returned Jessie to her that way to giver her reason to hang on after her husband had been killed, or she surely would have followed him.My heart ached for this family, and for Talia Champion as she dealt with last days of her father's life after a debilitating illness that had gone on for seven years. The fact that seven years ago she had told Bowie no when he proposed marriage to her, but didn't tell him about her father, and now when he found out this time home, and he forgave her and they moved forward - yes, this is the best thing about Ms. Sala's writing I love. No secrets, no angst where it isn't needed. They still love each other, he understood her reasoning when she explained it, and so in the way of the mountain people they picked up and life went on.Five stars for this book that will take you from the deepest lows to the highest highs. I love that Ms. Sala also doesn't write always from deep point view of one person, she uses the omnipresent view point a lot. For her writing it works and just seems to fit.

It's not a matter of who is guilty as much as its who isn't!
This is another older release of Sharon Sala's but it holds up to today's standards. When Leigh Wayne Youngblood's husband is murdered, he leaves a clue to the identity of his killer. Along with a battle between two families, that has continued for decades. The return of Leigh's son Bowie stirs up the history he had with Talia Champion. This story has a great story that isn't so much of a murder mystery as it is a elimination of possible, family members who could have done it. The side story of Bowie and Talia is another story.Very enjoyable and interesting read about a family that has ignored the rules for years.

A World of Power!
Grab a box of tissues as you begin reading this book. Really! You will encounter a tight-knit family who represents good honest hard-working people. You will plunge into the world of the entitled rich who believe they are above the law, that the ends justify the means, and that murder is an acceptable way to deal with anyone who gets in your way. Sala does an excellent job of showing people who, no matter what, never accumulate enough money in their drive to become richer and richer, and therefore, more powerful. How much does it take to have enough? Millions? Billions? You'll have characters to love and characters to hate!

Wish I could get my money back!
I have read Sharon Sala books in the past and they were generally pretty good however this one I could not finish. the plot was good however the 2 main character's were not. In less than a page the characters who were broke up got back together - I know it's just a book but at least try and be somewhat real. Not one of her better books!!

Good read
I am a Sharon Sala fan and have found few of her I haven't enjoyed. However, most of hers require three books or more to resolve the killer and the reason. It was a delight to read this one and to have everything resolved in one book. It was a good read, grabbing the reader from the first sentence to the end. I couldn't put it down. Leigh Youngblood is the heroine of the story and her strength is what makes the book come to life. I finished it way too soon.

Stanton Youngblood murdered
Leigh Wayne Youngblood's husband Stanton was shot in the back out in the fields. Before he died he managed to write the word Wayne in his blood. Before Leigh saw it she knew her birth family had been the ones who had killed him. This book is about the two familys. Good mystery.

Drama with great impact.
The story grabbed from the first page and never let up. I read it almost in one sitting. Congratulations to the writer.

Ok, just not her best
Not as good as her other books. The nastiness of the 'family she left behind' just made me uncomfortable. They had no redeeming qualities any of them. Story was ok, just seemed such a waste and you don't have a happy feeling at the end of the book. I can't explain it well, just felt a little sad.
