The media could not be loaded. Been carrying a zippo for over 20 years this one is 10 years old, just got tired of refilling it every other day. Nice weight quality built, and looks great with a smooth polished chrome as to be expected from zippo. Fits perfectly in my zippo, and over time it will be well worth it. The flame is a bit tall and you can’t adjust the flame, but that doesn’t bother me. Plus you don’t lose that traditional zippo click that I was a little skeptical about prior to buying. As you seen in the video took it right out of the box filled it and lit right off with no issue. I suggest using the NEON 11X butane you see in the video, I have found it to be the best over all the other butane brands even the zippo brand butane. Makes for a great gift for anyone that prefers a zippo lighter over the typical Bic.

The media could not be loaded. I got this because my original insert dried up very quickly and i wanted something i could just leave in my bag for a couple days and still be able to use. This insert is great, it has some weight to it and seems to be high quality.it’s a smaller flame then the orginal zippo insert but the flame still has a decent size. it was very easy to fill up and seems to be lighting everytime i strike the flint. only complaint i have is that it’s a bit skinnier than the original insert so it kind of pops out of the case and makes it hard to close.

Glad Zippo finally started making a butane insert. I've used some third party ones that were consistently problematic. This works just fine and has given new life to a zippo I got forty years ago, and that I'll pass on to my grandson.

The insert fits into the zippo shell perfectly. But it should since both items are made by zippo. The butane fuel loads easily into the lighter and burns cleanly without any fuel odor. The flame itself cannot be adjusted and here lies one of the problems. Some say the flame is too tall. I find that after I load the fuel I then purge some of the fuel out and the flame is at a more modest height. I also found that with time, I have the same insert that I bought a year ago and it appears that with time the flame height becomes more manageable. No matter what some people may claim there is no screw to adjust the flame. Even zippo on their website admits that this particle insert does not have an adjustment screw. The flat screw on the bottom of this insert is for loading and unloading and adjusting the flint. It does not adjust the flame. Look at my title. This review is for this particle insert and not a butane torch. The fuel lasts substantially longer then the regular smelly messy zippo famous in ww2 and Vietnam. Nothing like a dry lighter at the end of the current fire fight.

So great product as a whole. It’s a lighter. It works. Just temper expectations on the role it will play. I purchased to use for cigars. I like the soft flame more than a torch and the typical Zippo fluid is a no go thanks to that petroleum smell. Have tried a few generic brands of soft flame lighters/inserts over the years but they never impressed me. Saw that Zippo finally listened to their customers and made one so I had to try it.Once it arrived I followed all the instructions in the packaging. Simple enough to fill and use. Lit on the very first try but thank god I wasn’t lighting a cigarette. The flame was 3”+ high. Immediately thought I needed to adjust but once I realized it didn’t offer the ability to, I became extremely disappointed.Let it sit for a day to see if the internal pressure just needed to stabilize. Nope. Purged some thinking maybe I overfilled even tho it’s not really possible. Nope. No change. So at this point I’m not really sure if I’ll keep it or give it to a friend.Look, it’s a Zippo. I’m sure it’s reliable and will work great for years. Snap the wheel and button and it fires right up. Will work well for any other number of uses, but for cigarette smokers, just be wary of the size of the flame before putting it towards your face. It will work for sure for cigar smokers but touch ups will be hit and miss so know that going in before you spend the money.Hopefully Zippo adds an adjustment feature in future designs but right now it’s just another run of the mill lighter.

Doesn't light most of the time. My finger is getting sore from having to strike it so many times. Tried refilling but no change in performance.UPDATE: Got to where it only lit sometimes. Replaced the Flint (even though it wasn't used up) & it fits every time, better then brand new. It's not good in wind though which a Bic isn't either. It does have the same flame as a Bic .
