This is a sturdy rack, easy to assemble
This is a sturdy rack, easy to assemble, for a great price. I wouldn't put a super heavy thing right in the middle of the shelf, but for storage boxes, groceries, tools and such, it's perfect. If you think about how it goes together, look at the instructions, it is really easy to assemble with no tools save a mallet or something else to gently bump pieces into place. Once assembled it is straight, even, sturdy. I painted the wood shelves black and it looks really nice.

Great shelf and free shipping makes it a better deal
Excellent value. I have several of these in the garage - various depths and dimensions. They hold a lot of weight and they work extremely well. They are a bit of challenge to assemble the first time but, once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. I have assembled at least 12 of them at this point.

Shelves are very sturdy and easy to assemble
Shelves are very sturdy and easy to assemble. More important than that is the customer service of the Edsal Co. My unit was delivered on a Friday afternoon. Upon opening 2 shelves were damaged. I called the 800# and left a message as it was after hrs. On Monday morning someone called me about the 2 shelves and on Wednesday two new shelves arrived at my door. First class customer service all the way.

They skimped on parts
The first time I got Edsel shelves for garage, they came with a piece that joined the two levels together tightly. I loved those shelves, so EZ to assemble for a chick like me. These do not have that piece - you have to really do some serious work to get these together at the middle shelf. That said they are very sturdy and long lasting. Not much will harm these, barring a spill on the unfinished shelf.

Great shelf, but was sent incorrect parts
Shelf is sturdy. I have purchased a few others like it in the past without issue. One of the longer shelf pieces is incorrect and is too short. 3 of the shelves work as designed. Messaged the vendor with no reply. Ill be sending it back if its not made right.

We own several of these and they’ve been great for organizing the basement
We own several of these and they’ve been great for organizing the basement. We don't have much weight on ours, it's mostly Christmas decorations, tools, and paint cans—but my pressure canner and brew pot on the same shelf—they weight around 75lbs total and the shelves have held up just fine.I did find these tricky for one person to put together, so having a second pair of hands will be helpful as long as you work well together. I also suggest anchoring them to the wall if you have small children. My son has tried to climb the shelves a few times. They weigh about 65lbs each before loaded up with our junk and are definitely heavy enough to injure a child if they tip over.

Good rack for the $$, fine for garage use. Crappy packaging.
These units work great for my garage storage. I ordered three units. They assemble easily in about 15 minutes.I wish the feet had some kind of adjustability, the reality is garage floors are rarely even. Minor issue. The shelves are sturdy and can handle normal garage box weight just fine. The reason I'm taking off a star is because of the packaging and shipping, as well as consistency. I ordered a single unit to make sure I liked it before ordering two more. The first came in, and the wood was a good density particleboard, the metal parts were boxed up in two separate cardboard boxes. The particleboard parts had some small chips on the ends, since they don't put ANY packaging material to protect the edges of the wood. This is unfortunate. But I figured everything was intact, and the reality is they're garage racks. So I ordered two more. Oddly, they arrived separately, like they came from two locations. The outer packaging boxes were all the same, but what was inside varied a bit. The 2nd shelf had cheaper particleboard shelves, less dense, different texture and color. Even the metal parts seem to have a slightly different finish. Again, chipped edges. Not a big deal, again garage shelves. But interesting to note the material change. Also, the 2nd unit metal parts were not boxed separately. The 3rd shelf had the same particleboard as the 1st unit, happy about that (nicer finish). Properly boxed metal parts like the1st unit. But clearly this unit had taken a hit during shipping, which is no surprise considering the weight. All it takes is to drop the box on its edge and the contents will get damaged. In this case, one of the corners of the vertical corner "L" bars was badly bent over on itself, I had to straighten it in my vice. So the paint was naturally chipped off. As I went about assembling the unit, I found several of the horizontal bars were also bent. Not horribly, but I had to straighten about 5-6 bars, where the silver metal rings are, so they would align and could be rubber-malleted into place. In the end, I was able to assemble the rack and deal with the imperfection, if only because returning the unit would be more trouble and I was able to get it together in a way that it's functionally acceptable. But it shouldn't be like this, it should ship more protected, and the materials should be consistent.

We love these Muscle Racks
We have several of these muscle racks in the basement. Shelves are easy enough to adjust one at a time. No need to empty the entire unit to make a change. Very sturdy.
