Grammatical Errors
While I like the content of the book, it was sometimes hard to read as there are a lot of grammatical errors and missing words from sentences. An example from page 29: "In the course of the hour she repeatedly made in mistakes speech, and I finally observed that it only because she imitated me but because she had a special reason in her unconscious..." There are quite a few examples of sentences like this, or sometimes it seems that important words from the sentence are just not there. Perhaps there were some mistakes that have persevered from their original German translation

Good Starter Book
This is the first book of Freud's that I have read. I did not get interested until about fifty pages in. After that it gets better. Basically, he explains why people make mistakes such as forgetting the name of someone you just met. Many of the stories he tells are interesting and easy to relate to as we all make similar mistakes from time to time. The main downside is that nearly all of the cases involve upper middle class people. Few stories of working class or poor people. I am not sorry I read it but my next book will be from another psychologist.

Read, learn and enjoy.
What can you say about Freud? - the father of psychotherapy with one of the best minds of the last century who manages to explain his ideas in such a clear and logical manner, supporting them with copious examples from his own life as well as that of others, that the book is as entertaining as it is informative. The book ranges through such topics as slips of the tongue, misreading, losing things and through his painstaking analyses, he convinces us of the correctness of his assertion that really they are not errors at all, but the subconscious overriding our conscious thoughts. The upshot, though, is that you will begin noticing the errors you make yourself and it is often only the work of a few moments to uncover the reasons you actually made these "mistakes". Just as revealing, you will not be able to help yourself from responding mentally to the errors made by your family and friends and this will provide you with insights into their real intentions and feelings, insights they may not even be aware of themselves.A fascinating introduction to psychoanalysis which will open your mind ( and no, not everything is related back to sexual hangups, as detractors of Freud may make you believe ) .

Cheaply Printed, Clearly Just A Laminated PDF
Avoid this print. It is an exaggeration to even call this a "paper-back." The book is nothing more than a bound print of the (now) open source "Psychopathology Of Everyday Life." This print cuts corners in everyday possible to deliver the cheapest and most nuanced product. The font is no more than size 6 and the cover is so poor the lamination nearly peals off.Spend the extra $4 to get the PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSE edition.

Psychopathology of Everyday Life
I am re-reading Freud and this was my third choice. As I have said in other reviews, whether you agree with him or not, Freud is always a good read! I found the book easy to understand and interesting enough to use in everyday life...

Great book, great edition
I got a second hand edition that costed 4 bucks less, some scratches here and there but no notes or highlights, perfect for reading

Appalling translation
The Kindle version from GR Editors, whoever they are eventually becomes unreadable. Whoever translated this edition was probably a German speaker with only rudimentary English skills. It becomes briefly amusing once we reach the part about slips of the tongue - the classic 'Freudian slip'. But at this point I lost the will to continue and will take care to find a more competent translation.

Probably the Worst Possible Edition of an Otherwise Brilliant Book
The rating relates to the edition rather than the content of the book. The latter is brilliant. As to the former:1) This is a reprint of a .pdf file of "Psychopathology of Everyday Life" that one can find online with a simple Google search. In and of itself this would not be a bad thing, however...2) The quality of text is often appalling. Missing punctuation is a constant annoyance, but I can get over that. Missing words, however, are a different matter. The final sentence of chapter 4 will serve as a good example: "I am and a half years older than the sister born that time, and when I was three years of I was separated from my half-brother."3) In addition to this, chapter 1 is missing a sentence and a half as well as a graph illustrating the point being made. Unlike the missing words mentioned above, these actually appear in the .pdf. God only knows what prevented them from making it to the book.In light of the above, I cannot recommend this edition. The lack of quality control is completely astonishing, especially considering that the book was printed by Amazon itself.

Found it quite hard to follow
I was kind of lost in the first chapter, its not you average read but Freud was not your average psychoanalyst. The first chapter on forgetting familiar names lost me, as i thought maybe we just forget, its on the 'tip of the tongue' kind of think but Freudians will not see a matter as forgetfulness a simple as that! Have not finished yet, barely got through the first chapter but good to take a look at from time to time.
