This is the better mouse trap
This trap works very well. I catch a mouse a day and could very likely catch more if I could check the traps more often. I set the trap along a wall or step with no bait. The mice run along the wall and snap, another mouse. I use this trap along with other type such as Havahart. It's my experience that mice will be attracted to different objects and having a variety of traps seems to get better results. We have a large amount of oak trees that seem to attract many mice, voles, chipmunks and other rodents. It is very hard to believe the amount of mice I have (had) between the house, garage and barn. I like this trap best because the large trigger. Most of the mice I trap because the mouse was running thru the area. I do not bait because I'm concerned the food would only attract more mice. This trap can be tricky to set, hair trigger, but if you bait and find your trap empty and the trap still set you will appreciate the fact that this trap works. I also like the fact that the mice do not suffer like a glue trap.

Efficient classic reusable moustrap
This trap decapitates the mouse, and is a classic old-fashioned style mousetrap. It is easy to use when you follow the directions for it. Just be sure you don't set the spring to snap shut until you've finished setting the bait, as you don't want to injure yourself by accident. Having these on hand solves any brief mouse issues now that I no longer have a cat in the house.

A pain in the a** to set, but they worked for me!!!
ughughUGH. Cold weather has sent me some very unwanted guests. I've never had this experience before and I'm REALLY GROSSED OUT. The exterminator I want to use can't come till next week so yesterday I went to the hardware store and bought ten or so traps of various brands and types, all under $2 each. This is my limited experience, based on only one night; I will update this review if any of the failed traps turns out to work in the near future. I bought (1) the Victor "Quickset," a plastic "clamshell" style that was easy to bait and set. Bait was removed from one, and neither caught anything; (2) the Victor original "metal pedal" -- Bait was removed from one, and neither caught anything; Victor's inaccurately named "Easy set," which has a large yellow plastic pedal designed to look like cheese. These were the hardest to set and I almost gave up. It is very tricky to place the metal bar under the "cheese," hence the bad reviews for this product. Victor posts some totally inadequate instructions re adjusting the sensitivity by moving the bar to the right or left. But bottom line, of all the traps I bought, I only had two of these, and they both caught mice! This tells me something, since I placed a total of about ten traps (including several Tomcat, none of which worked). That's why I'm ordering more of these from Amazon. btw, in theory these are reusable butI am waaaay too squeamish to remove a dead mouse and then re-set the trap. Fortunately they're cheap enough to be disposable. Like I said, UGH!!!!!!

Reliable and Dependable
I tried other products (mouse traps), before buying this particular brand. I am very satisfied with the results. I set traps in suspected areas and the traps caught mice. I used peanut butter and a small portion of cheese as bait. Another effective bait is put butter on the yellow spring board first, then put MOUSE X poison pellets on the cheese. The mouse will remove the pellet and eat it elsewhere and die. These traps are very sensitive and will set off very easily. If you have a mouse problem, I strongly recommend this product. WARNING handle thses traps very carefully or they will go off in your hands. Always keep your fingers clear. Happy Hunting!

Impossible to set
I've used victor mouse traps before with 0 issues and these ain't it Way, way too sensitive. Going off while sliding them along the surface, or just after a few minutes of setting from nothing. After your 5th time having a trap go off from nothing, flinging peanut butter everywhere, you start to wonder if mice are so bad afterall

No need to bait
These are my favorite mouse traps because the trigger is large enough that you only need to place these in the path that mice travel, and they work like a charm, even without bait. That's good because bait draws bugs and rodents in where you don't want them. In a home, you want to seal entry points and keep them out, but in a shed or barn, they tend to just make new entry points, so instead of sealing them, I keep them open and trap them.

Gets them every time!
We get an annual pilgrimage of mice in our attic every fall, and its a nearly endless battle to exterminate them. Typically I snare about twenty a year, and along the way I've experimented with a wide variety of mouse traps, from the very basic snap traps to several new and improved versions and even two electronic ones. In my experience the two best traps are both from Victor, either the old metal pedal snap trap or their new yellow plastic pedal snap trap. I use peanut butter (just a little) on the metal pedal version, and either just leave the plastic pedal version as-is (e.g., no bait), or with a little smear of peanut butter. I find the yellow pedal version, with the pedal set to sensitive (i.e., trigger set to the far right), to never miss. The metal ones tend to be a bit less expensive, but I always go with a mix of the two (just in case the mice have a preference!). BTW, I have actually gone as far as installing an infrared camera in my attic and on several occasions I have video of the little critters sneaking around and checking things out. On two occasions I have actually seen them get caught (its over pretty quickly, thankfully).

Great, but faulty
I honestly say these traps work. I've caught a mouse every single one I've put out. Unfortunately, half of them are faulty, I've had to thrown out half of them due to it not being able to latch on. It seems to be just a bit too far from the handle, so I've snapped my finger multiple times. It's very frustrating. I want to love it but I'm afraid to buy more when I can't predict how many are actually faulty.
