Big improvement in the handling of the camera, especially when shooting vertically.Battery life much improved as the Li90 battery can now be used.

Well, there is no question that if you own a Pentax KP and want to use it a lot you need this. All of the three grips supplied with the KP will give you hand cramps if you use them for extended periods. The battery grip provides the most comfort when using the camera in portrait orientation. It improves the grip for landscape, but not by much. It's also grossly overpriced, but I just chalked it up to it making the KP a more expensive camera, and for my purposes, it is worth the added expense. YMMV. The improved battery life and the better grip are really pretty essential. One of the things I found very irritating in making this purchase is the very poor description of the features. It took me hours to find out what buttons and dials were included. Since I always use back button focus, it was absolutely essential that the AF/AE-L button be on the thumb side of the grip in the right location. Eventually I found a picture that showed it along with other buttons and a dial on the back. The exposure compensation button, On/Off/Shutter Release, and the front dial are on the front of the item and are often pictured. I included a couple of quick and dirty pictures taken with my K 70. My biggest concern, however is the flimsy little tab that must be twisted to remove the sled for battery insertion/removal. I included a picture of the tab next to my finger for scale. Don't see how they expect that to last. The other weakness is the insert for the standard LI09 battery. Need to find a box to keep that in when it is not in use or it will surely get broken. So for me, it's a gotta have item that I hope survives heavy in the field use.

So Very Glad I bought this grip. Adding the accompanying grip L, the battery grip provides a firm hold of the camera.The battery tray has an insert installed so you can use a D-LI109 battery in the grip. (See the Middle picture.) You remove the insert to allow use of the high-capacity D-LI90 battery. (See the Left hand picture.)The battery tray also has a place to store a Memory Card. (See the Right hand picture.) The memory card is only Stored there. The camera does not have access to the card. You have to remove the memory card in the camera and insert the stored one if you want to use it. This slot can then be used to store the removed / used memory card.

Looks, fits, and works as well as the OEM grip I have on other Pentax bodies.

If you have a KP you will want this! Can't go wrong, very nice addition and well worth it if you do portrait photography.

While this accessory does improve the grip of the camera, it greatly-increases the overall bulk and weight of the combined unit, which might be a negative for some. It will extend the battery life and does provide a slot to store an extra SD card, which is a nice feature. It seems well-built.

Si eres una persona que necesita largas jornadas, tomas mucho retrato, y sólo tienes dos pilas y poco tiempo, éste complemento, le añade valor a la Pentax KP. El material es de muchísima calidad, algo esperado de esta marca, cuida los detalles y encaja a la perfección con la cámara. Además de ser comodísima en unas manos enormes como las mías, sin embargo pierde el concepto de ser una cámara pequeña y compacta, pero a mi gusto, me gustan las cámaras y lentes enormes.El grip incluye lo siguiente:+Grip con su tapa protectora de las conexión a la cámara+base para la batería+adaptador para utilizar baterías las D-Li109 usada por la KP, K70, K50..., sin ella, utiliza la D-LI90, que usa principalmente la K1,K3, K5 etc+Una empuñadura XL intercambiable extraNO incluye una pila como se suele creer.La principal desventaja es que no añade funciones o potencia para algún tipo de mejora en el equipo más que la ergonomia, otras marcas añaden mayor disparos en ráfaga o conexiones extra.La otra es que el precio es excesivamente caro más caro incluso que el grip de, por ejemplo las Fujifilm XT, que añaden más potencia y funciones con el modo 'boost' Es una buen compra considerando incluso el valor de mercado que suelen tener las Pentax, al final venderlo no baja mucho de precio como otras marcas suelen hacer, sin embargo, si estoy pensando en exprimirlo el primer mes que otorga Amazon de devoluciones y regresarlo para comprar una muy buena óptica.Pueden utilizar ésto último recurso para ver si éste complemento realmente lo necesitan y les es útil por lo que están pagando.
