2017 WRX -Base model. Easy install. Slight modifications.
This came without installation instructions even though the back of the sealed bag the brackets came states, "Follow the enclosed installation instructions..." (see picture¹).This comes with 4 brackets:2 wedge shaped brackets (1Left/1Right) that mount directly to inner steel door panel.2 flat brackets (1Left/1Right) that mount with speakers on top of the other two. Both sets are identical in shape and mounting hole position.I think the flat brackets are optional in case of clearance issues behind the speaker.I used all 4 and still had plenty of clearance both in front and behind the speakers. When mounting the wedge shape brackets, the taller side should be positioned towards the front of the car, so the speakers angle towards the rear. Compare with the angle of the factory speakers.I drilled a 5/8" hole in the side of each bracket to pass the speaker harness wires through and wrapped the harness clips with fabric tape so the rattle on anything & around the wires so the insulation won't wear down.Passenger side: The bracket aligns perfectly with all three factory mounting holes.Drivers side: The upper and lower left bracket holes line up but for the lower right I had to drill a hole in the steel panel and secure with coarse sheet metal screw.*TIP* Before drilling through steel apply a small piece of making tape, then mark the position with a pen. The masking tape will help keep the bit from "walking". You can also lightly strike an awl or punch with a hammer to create a dimple if the surface is round or if you don't have making tape. Or do both.I spent about 45 min. on the Driver side and about 25 on the Passenger side. That may seem long to some, but I wanted to do it right. I took my time. Also I'm currently on vacation. So, technically I'm getting paid to do this. One more thing... The factory speakers have a lip on the back side that acts as a shield against dripping water. They are small but look close and you can see water spots (See picture²) meaning water will eventually reach your speakers without it.I recommend getting some DEI 050330 Boom Mat Speaker Baffles, 6.5" Round (Pack of 2) and just cut the back and lower side walls to replicate this feature. Or don't cut them and keep the speaker enclosed. But as Crutchfield adviser told me, it may muffle/degrade the quality of sound.

Some modification may be required
I had to break off all the inner screw holes because the speaker would not fit in there. Kinda disappointed but it did work after modifying it.

Perfect for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma door speakers
Exact fit for my new door speakers. The 3 holes for the screws lines up well for the door panel.

For my WRX 2012
It fits perfectly, didnt have to drill a hole, just look for the F and L simbols on each one.Tip: when installing, don’t tied the head screw all the way in, just a little for positioning.

Cheap speaker adapters that are not identical parts when buying more than one package!
These speaker adapters are cheap but will work ok if you want a quick installation. However, if you are planning to spend money, and invest time for better sound you should go with other options for mounting.I purchased two of these packages and each package comes with two pieces, one for left and one for right door. The first issue I found is that the parts are different between two packages even though the part numbers in yello clearly show that they are supposed to be the same. The package that has an exclamation triangle is the one that has two pieces that were identical. This package has different part number at the bottom of the bag seen in the pictures, PBT-158-CNCR.The package with the part number PBMS-158 at the bottom of the bag is the one with the right pieces for each side.If you do end up buying this product make sure it has the PBMS-158 part number. If I had to do this all over again I would just but after market speakers that are ready with the proper mount and foam rings all ready to go instead of piecing it with cheap aftermarket mounts. If you don't care for perfect sound and just want to replace dead speakers this product with the right part number is for you.

Good quality thick plastic, made the install job factory and seamless
Was trying to be cheap and figure out if i needed them or not lol but they made everything super easy to install. They dont bring screws and it didnt seem to fit the speaker screws that come with the speakers because theyre too thin so I drilled my own holes but if you use thicker screws you can use the predrilled holes. Its a nice thick plastic not cheap or flimsy, looks like they’ll hold up for many many years

Worked great on my 2011 Impreza
Worked great, reduced rattle, added acoustics so the speakers sound great now. I used 3 1/4" nuts and bolts for each bracket mounting them to the door after drilling new holes. I then used 8 10/32 (m5) screws with loctite mounting the speakers to the brackets themselves. I picked the hardware up at home depot for around $10
