TEKTON 6678 12-Inch Flat File

I used this Flat File to file the sides of a skateboard while putting on the griptape.The quality of this file sees really good for the price. Since I am not actually using this to shave/file wood away I can not speak to that aspect.Worked great for the skateboard gript tape and solid construction.Well as an edit...the file deserves a 5 star for its build/price and quality. But use a screwdriver instead of a file to do your grip tape...much cleaner and you dont file your board down...lesson learned.

I purchased this file for sharpening lawn mower blades and my wood chipper blades. It works perfectly. It has a sturdy handle that fits great in your palm, and a stop so that you can not overshoot your piece and cut yourself. I like the weight also. Heavy enough to feel sturdy, but not overwight so that you get tired working with it.I would definetly buy another, and recomend this 100%. Price can not be beat. This is a high quality tool.

What can I say? This file arrived quickly and works as listed. It has come in handy several times. Takes off just enough metal without having to get too aggressive with it. It is in the drawer and always ready to go.

I bought this file to sharpen my machete, so I could clear some brush on my land. This file did the job well, and the handle (which came with the file) made it a lot more convenient and safe. Some complained about file life, but I essentially bought this to do this one job, and it performed well. As a plus, I saw no sign of rounding of the cutting edges, so it should be good for the next job.

It was not expensive and a good file, however, it became dull pretty quick and would not file much any more after 5 uses. So had to buy a different file. I had several files in the past that lasted a couple of years.

Works as described. The handle has good grip and the file itself seems pretty durable so far. I use this primarily on polymers but have used on metals and it did the job.

For a made in China file, it exceeded my expectations! I bought a 20 pack of Yugo and Polish mags for my AK's. Unfortunately, my PSAK47's would NOT except these mags as is. They would only take Pmags. I bought this file to remove a small amount of metal from the locking tabs and this file cut through them like butter. With minimal effort and one episode of Shark Tank I was able to salvage all 20 mags.There is still a lot of bite left in this file too. Now my mags work like a champ in my PSAK47'S. This one file turned what might have been a headache for a full day at the range.

Worked okay, but the metal is extremely brittle, and the file basically broke in half the first time I dropped it on the wooden workbench from about 3 inches high. More delicate than porcelain!

I filed mild steel (suspension link) with it as a test and it cuts like butter. That is all I was interested in. Then if you want superb fit and finish, look elsewhere. Made in china. I will update this review if anything changes.

I have not used yet but appears to be good quality.
