Most definitely. Mine was 18' exactly and I had to cut off almost a foot of rope to make it work.

Q: how thick is this rope? I need to cut it to shorten it and the hooks I want are for 3/4" rope.

Hi, this rope is half inch, 1/2" in diameter. it is a woven rope, so as it is pulled it gets thinner to 3/8"

Q: can you make floats closer together are they movable

They slightly movable however they cannot be pushed together at all. They are spaced equally throughout rope.
