Too large and unwieldy. Zippers don't accommodate a right-handed person.
This pack was simply too large. I am reasonably tall, at 5'8", and the "grab" handle on the top was jamming into the back of my neck. Also, the zippers were strangely configured, at least for a right-handed person. And, the two important "easy access" pouches didn't have zippers that extended the whole way around. Awkward. It also was so large that the compartments were so deep that reaching the bottom of them didn't make for an organized carrier.Perhaps it is suitable for what it is described as: a carry on.That said, "SOLO Varsity Region Backpack for Women and Men. Fits 15.6-inch Laptop and Notebook Perfect for Business, Travel, School and College - Black", is GREAT. Fits my needs perfectly. I wanted a large-capacity pack that was also light and streamlined. I use it for walking to work and back (about 2 miles each way). It sits really comfortably on my shoulders and has ample organizational space for my needs. So, I would steer the user looking for a day to day pack, that also will perform well as a carry-on accompaniment (think your main piece of carry-on luggage in the storage bin, and this pack under the seat with all of your stuff you want ready access to), towards the smaller SOLO pack. One zipper that only goes around 3/4 of the way is really my only complaint.Only took me a few days to end up being super-satisfied with this item.

Disappointing
The organization is pretty good but the size is bigger than described. It’s listed as 18x10x12, but it’s actually 20x10x13 at its biggest, which won’t fit under the seat if packed even 50% full because of the excess padding. The straps are too thin to be used for long, I would imagine it would be very uncomfortable

Super versatile and strong
Great bag for daily use at work or school... but also great for travel... even a complete weekend getaway.

WAAAY To Much Padding Decreases Storage Space
I have been a backpack junkie for 25 years. Other guys like sneakers, I like backpacks. This one is a fail because of the amount of padding between every compartment. The padding is 3/8" thick and goes around the entire front, back and sides, and between the top and 2nd compartment and 2nd and 3rd compartments. More padding around the laptop sleeve. Well, if this thing fell from the 2nd story it would protect all your travel clothes, but my clothes don't need protection. HEAR THIS BACKPACK MAKERS: The only compartment that needs padding is the laptop compartment. And quite frankly the laptop sleeve should have a rigid outer shell with think padding inside like an Otterbox cell phone case. Padding anywhere else is a defect, a drawback, a blunder. Use heavy canvas everywhere else. Now someone may be carrying a laptop, tablet, cell phone, DSLR camera, and bluetoooth over-the-ear giant headphones. And maybe a drone. This backpack may suit that person. But it is billed as a travel backpack and weekender luggage. All the padding makes this one of the heaviest backpacks I have owned from the 40 or so and is not well suited for airport travel. The styling is great. It actually does reflect New York City. Dark gray, not black, sort of fancy when you look at it directly, but not flashy so it blends into the background. Just like NYC people during the day. (Things are a little more ... flamboyant ... on weekend nights.)

Solo New York Weekender Pack, easy laptop access, plenty of space, light weight, understatedgrey.
The pack is as advertised and shown, color and details are exact. Every photo of mine, now that I see them lined up, seems to have a different color tone, but the ad color is accurate and the third photo without tags, is most accurate for color. On to the review of this lovely pack, well thought out and the zippers, fabric, details are pretty great. I was a flight attendant and my mom was a travel agent when I was growing up. We traveled too much. Carry on bags were not so important then, but good quality luggage was very important. Now, with security and all the hassles, I find myself packing a carry on even for 9 day trips, so packing has become an art form. Carry on size limits are much smaller too, adding to the challenge. If I must have things with me, I have been known to ship them in advance when possible. This pack has plenty of room for three days of clothes and all your gear, as long as you have access and time to do laundry you could do 9 days. It could get heavy as a travel pack but the straps seem strong enough and everything is well padded so heavy items don't poke or bruise you. One feature I'd like is a front strap and clasp to hold the pack on for bending over. Packs tend to fall over your head during travel because of all the bending over. This happens too often to me, because I'm rushing and need two hands and boom I nearly lose the pack over the head. I tighten the straps enough that I could add some clips, but I don't see why there couldn't be a front clasp. My first impressions are that, it's attractive, well made and designed. I can't wait to actually use it. The inner most part of the case is the clothing or larger area, double zippered. The computer will be closest to your back when worn as a back pack. The outer pockets allow easy access to whatever you need while traveling, book, phone, tablet or pad, magazines etc. There are a variety of compartments, straps, and meshed zippered areas for personal care items and smaller things you wish to organize or protect. I like that the pack sort of is padded to hold its shape, it makes rifling through to find something easier. I have a hard enough time finding things in my purse, this could be rough without the added strength and structure. The ad is accurate and complete with respect to detailing these features, however. If it holds up and the zippers are good, this is a great investment and value.
