Not only is this book beautiful and entertaining (we have many kids’ books that fit that description already), but there is so much awesome and practical information included! Be prepared to learn quite a bit along with your child, and for your next hike—be it in the woods or just through your neighborhood—to be that much richer for it.Nature is absolutely full of wonders, which I know my 4 year old already knows. But there are so very many clues nature provides—about direction, unseen animal behaviors, and upcoming weather for example—if we just learn to read them. This book will help open my child’s eyes and mind to some of these clues and concepts, and I am so grateful to the author for it. Thank you, Mr. Caudill—my family is loving this book!

An awesome and wonderfully illustrated book that takes the young reader around the world learning the signs of nature as they go. As the forward by explorer and naturalist Steve Backshall suggests this book will transform your experience of being outside.While this was written for youngsters I found myself fascinated and learning right along with them. This is a chance to learn the type of wisdom that used to be passed down by grandparents and elders. A great read for all ages this book belongs in every library and in every home.

Such a beautifully written and illustrated book. Got it to read with my two yr old as something we can both enjoy. She loves identifying all the animals. I like reading it for all the nature information I didn't know before.

This book has been perfect for my grade school aged daughter, who is very curious about the natural world. It has given us many new things to discuss and learn about together while exploring our area, from backyard to deep woods.I also learned many new things from Craig's book.Also, wonderfully illustrated.

Although I purchased this book for my 4 year old daughter, in hopes to foster her love for nature, it turned out to be a book that also reignited my love for the outdoors. Well-written, easy read, packed with knowledge and the illustrations are beautiful.

Loved how this book broke things down without dumbing down for kids to understand the beauty of nature. Excellent book to get kids to outside and understand nature! Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful read. It's full of fact's and lessons about the natural world . If you have children or grandchildren,this is the book for them. It will make them want to go outside, and of you probably know that is really good for their physical and mental health. Not to mention it is a lot of fun. Buy it for them and get ready to have adventures.

I bought this book with the intention of helping my kids understand nature and the outdoors better, but I also leaned things as well. In the short time that we have had it, we have read it at least 3 times as a family and looked through it individually dozens of times. This book is fantastic! The illustrations brought the extremely interesting facts to life. My kids keep pulling it off the shelf and discussing all the details they find in it. Their ages are 4, 8, &9. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to garner a love for the outdoors in their kids and learn something themselves along the way. Great book!!!

Amazing book for kids and adults! :) very informative to learn about nature.

To be honest, it was disappointing. Some pages were very basic, with no insightful info. I am sure there is much more intriguing things that could have been added. Great concept, and nice illustrations, but I wanted more "aha - interesting" kind of moments from it. Sent back.

A must-have for any outdoor enthusiast that want to share their passion with their kids and learn quite a few thing along the reading of this book. Very well organized, written and illustrated. Give your kids (and yourself) a favor: get this book!

Wonderful drawings and great prompts to get kids to think of the outdoors. Easily digestible. My daughter has read it as her bed time book since it arrived.
