Review: Excellent Choice - Love these slip bobbers. Well known for quality. I've been using slip bobber for as long as I've fished and these are my go to. If you have never tried slip bobbers before, I would highly recommend. It allows you to adjust how deep you want to fish from the bobber by simply adjusting the bobber stopper (little string knot). Extremely useful and game changer for walleye or crappie fishing. This set up also allows you to cast without dangling a 5ft line. Try it! Review: Fishing Thill Pro Series is an Art Form - The Thill 7/8 inch Pro Series weighted slip float (bobber), with brass top grommet, turns my fishing hobby into an art form. I simply love them! Using a fine quality slip float is NOT the same as the kids' fixed clip-on plastic bobber. These are MUCH more sophisticated. Thill floats allow me cast with freedom and precision knowing that the knot that I've tied will set the exact depth that I want to fish without having to swing lots of line that would otherwise have to dangle. When casting, the knot that you tie up the line will pass freely through my rod's eyelets while the bead and bobber will simply let the line slip through until it reaches the calculated depth - I use my rod length to measure the precise depth that I want my line to sink to too. They help me FIND the fish by easily adjusting the depth and as long as the tiny yarn knots hold fast, they will hold their position. They also help me keep my bait in the exact place that I want. I have found that I can use these, and the other available diameter sizes, for many different types of fish, fishing rigs, and I can even use them on braid (with a slightly shortened fluorocarbon/mono leader. I even troll with them to keep my bait high in the water - if I have to stop for a fish on one line, I know that my other troll lines are safe from sinking into snags and I have an excellent visual reference for where my lines are. The weighted ones will sit more vertically in the water and add just enough weight that no sinkers are needed when using a jig. I learned to tie my own bobber yarn knots using two cocktail straws (YouTube) using high-visibility bead thread and my own choices of bead colors from my local hobby/craft store (CHEAP!) too. Recently, I devoted an entire new tackle case dedicated solely to my Thill floats. I want to frame a set of them, illuminate them, and buy them a drink!

Better than expected
First time using a slip float, can’t wait to get out there and try it out! Had to put some weight before my snap swivel, and going to use 2-8ft leader of 6lb monofilament

Worked pretty well; good idea
Found it didn't cast as far as a bubble bobber.
