Creative Hands 4050259 Foam Kit, Beads 2 Lace - Packaging May Vary

First, the only negative I have for this toy. The centers on the beads are not completely punched out which means after my kids are finished playing they've left tiny foam centers everywhere. This is a problem in our house as we have a baby who is at the stage of exploring everything with her mouth. Beyond that, this a great bucket of beads. the needle threads through the beads easily enough that my 3 year old can play independently with them and not get frustrated. The foam is squishy and pleasant to handle. They are plenty of beads for my 3 kids to play with and share and make multiple necklaces each. We take everything apart when finished, but it would be frustrating if your child wanted to keep what they made intact as the clear stretchy thread unties itself with time and the beads come off. Not a problem for me as I take them apart anyway.

I almost didn't buy this product because of the reviews about the holes not being punched through and that being a big issue and the needle and cord not being included. I'm SO glad I bought it anyhow! My box came with 519 foam pieces in 7 colors (light blue, dark blue, red, yellow, orange, pink, and red) and 6 shapes (heart, big square, small square, big circle, small circle, star). It's true many of the holes are not punched through all the way, but my 2 year old can very easily punch through. The tiny pieces do make a bit of a mess, but it's nothing that a vacuum or dust buster or fingers can't clean up easily. I purchased the Patch Products Toys 36" Long Extra Laces, which work perfectly with these foam beads. My set also arrived with cord and a needle.

I bought this for my 3 year old daughter. I expected the beads to be MUCH larger, though this is probably my fault for redaing very much into product. The beads are soft foam with small holes cut in the middle of them, but not all the way through. This maked the large plastic "sewing" needle a little hard to puch through bead, but was easy enough. The lace is one long piece of plastic you will need to cut. An extra needle included in packaging would have been fantastic as I do not foresee this one lasting long. Needle is a longer, yellow piece of plastic with eye large enough tfor 3 yo to thread. However, because foam is not punched all the way through beads, end of needle is getting bent, quickly and it is NOT going to last. I will ook for some thing else to replace the needle ASAP, as I see tears in my future. Some of the beads are really small and if your child puts things in their mouth, do not get this. Average size of beads is abouta quarter and just a little larger. Nice colors, great shapes, center bit can get all over and be messy.Smallest beads are fingernail size. I would buy again, just need to be aware to read size and finding another needle.

The beads are good. Many of them do not have the hole pushed all of the way through. The needle and string that were supposed to come in the package were not included.

The bead kit was not as described on the site or on the label. I found that the laces and needles were not included after I had already I brought the beads to the UK to gave them to a child a gift. We had to improvise laces that would fit. Without the needles, the toy was very frustrating. Upon reflection, I think I was sent a used product. Please send a refund.

Overall this product worked out ok - but wasn't as captivating as I had hoped. The little holes in the pieces weren't always poked all the way through so when my child was trying to thread it, it wouldn't go through and she would get frustrated. Also, the thread it came with didn't really have an end that made it easy to thread through the foam pieces.Overall I would save your money and look for something else as this product really wasn't worth it.

Bought this for my 2.5 year old. She has great fine motor skills so it was easy for her to use. I take a handful at a time and give her that to work with instead of access to the whole giant tub :). I do wish it came with more than one needle, especially for the number of beads you could easily have more than one child playing at the same time.I have her string them by shape or color. When she's ready we'll be able to use them for counting then adding, etc.

I've actually bought these exact beads a few times and have never gotten around to reviewing them. They are pretty great, however if they're used outside they get dirty very fast because of the foam. Another drawback is that if they get wet or smidge sweaty the pink bead's color stains the skin a bit. Nothing too crazy but it does happen and has happened on every occasion, more-so the pink, the other colors seem to hold their color a lot more. Overall I still love these beads. It comes with a little stick to push the bead holes clean but it's really not an issue.Another note, the box is MUCH bigger than expected. Some beads are larger than an inch, so if you're expecting smaller beads this is not what you're looking for.
