I want to test to see if I can get improved gain with this over the pre-installed wireless devices in my laptops, but don't want to take it off the desktop I installed it on... oh, and the speed is sufficient to make it a viable alternative to running ethernet around doorways (I wanted the lazy option over running ethernet everywhere in rewiring some things).Update - Two Months In: Still very satisfied with the product. Periodically (maybe twice a week), I'll lose all connection to the wireless network, and it will take at most five minutes to sort itself out (usually less than 2 minutes). On a device that is online 24-7 that is non-critical, I consider this an acceptable mean time between failures. Still would highly recommend to anyone.

I purchased this USB wireless network adapter after my Windows 10 PC would no longer connect to my router with an Ethernet cable (I previously purchased from Amazon 2 PCI-e network adapters thinking it was my on-board network adapter which it turns out it wasn't).Other than having to use Windows' network manager to refresh the device, it connected to my wireless router beautifully. The speeds are very good. My ISP provides 60mbps down and 5mbps up and I'm currently hitting in the 50s on speed tests with other devices in the house using the internet.So far I have had no problems with this wireless network adapter and will return to update my review in the event its quality and functionality diminishes.Don't hesitate to purchase this network adapter if you're in need of a quality adapter at a great price.

Best thing I have bought for my laptop. The wifi adapter built into my laptop only worked on the 2.4 band. It was slow. The connect would drop and it was slow.I added this USB adapter. It works great now. I am in the 5ghz band. And wow. Rock solid speeds. No lost of connection.It does stick out of the laptop. But I think it's worth the speeds. It did come with a driver cd " mini cd "I installed the drivers. Before putting in the USB adapter. It came with a wifi program.

After trying out a PCI wi-fi adapter (which ended up being a mini nightmare), I figured I would just try a cheap-ish USB adapter and see how it went. I'm incredibly surprised at how well this thing is performing. Even though it comes with software, it was a very easy plug-and-play install and we've had no issues with connectivity. I'm sure there are likely ping issues or something wif you're trying to do gaming (which I haven't test for yet), but downloads and streams run great.

The Good: Inexpensive. Fast driver install on my Win7 desktop computer via the provided mini disc (save it for your next PC). Pigtail Adapter and small size allows you to position the antenna as desired. Strong reception (95%) through two hardwood floors and several drywall layers to my WiFi router.The Bad: I didn't buy it sooner. Seriously, I have nothing but praise.

We needed a wifi adapter for a CNC water jet at work that would work from inside the sealed controller cabinet. It was seamless installation and Windows7 instantaneously installed the driver. We were up and working in literally a few minutes. I can't speak to it's durability yet but I will update this if I have trouble. Since they are so cheaply priced I ordered an extra just in case it goes down.

I got this because it specifically said it worked with Vista. I could not get it to work because the install software kept asking me for stuff I didn't know.So I got a different product and it was practically plug and play, all it wanted was my network password. I have a feeling this one would work fine if I was a little more savvy, but I gave up.

Our router is in back of our house on the lower floor while the desktop is in front on the upper floor. The adapter pulls in a good steady signal. Installation consisted of screwing the antenna into the USB component (no tools required) and popping it into a USB 2.0 port where Windows 10 recognized it in seconds for plug and play. Came with a mini CD which I assume includes drivers, but didn't need to refer to it. Very happy with this item.
