Definitely thickens
This shampoo lathers really nicely. I can't quite describe the scent other than a clean soapy smell. The shampoo itself is pretty thick and a small amount is all that's necessary to create a thick, rich lather on my 50+ year-old man's short hair. I leave this lathered up for about a minute before rinsing, and without the need to repeat the shampooing, I notice that my hair feels soft, thicker and more "obedient" throughout the day. I take away one star because of the price - I think that at 11.99 for a 16oz bottle, the bottle feels a little cheap and flimsy.

Nice Shampoo at a Reasonable Price; Leaves Hair Smoother and Easier to Tame
The product description is full of a lot of unnecessary hype: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, reduces stress, blah, blah, blah. The bottom line is, this is a really nice shampoo for a fair price ($11.99 at time of order) — and that’s exactly what I was looking for. It smells great (very light coconut scent), leaves my hair feeling fresh and clean, and makes my short hair smoother, with noticeably fewer fly-away hairs. I did not notice that my hair was thicker, fuller or shinier; it was simply clean and more manageable than with most other shampoos and/or conditioners I have used. The consistency and feel of the product is somewhere between shampoo and conditioner (maybe it does both?), but it rinses out thoroughly without any of the heaviness some conditioners leave. Setting aside all the hype on the product page, this is a quality shampoo that is worth the price. I have tried $50 shampoos and conditioners (including Ovation’s ridiculously overpriced $54 cell therapy treatment) and I think this works just as well at a fraction of the price.I also really like that this shampoo contains no parabens (a preservative with potential negative side effects), sulfates (which can cause dry skin and strip too much natural oil from your hair, leaving it dry and unhealthy) or any of the many synthetic ingredients common in other shampoos. This is an excellent product for a reasonable price. Very highly recommended.

Great for fine hair
This Bare Biotics shampoo smells great and lathers well. It does strip or dry my hair and I can skip using conditioner if I want. I have baby fine hair and this shampoo leaves my hair clean and with more body. Nice!If you found my review helpful, why not click the "Helpful" button. Thanks! 😉

Nice to have a vegan choice in shampoo
I have medium length, very fine, color treated hair and I definitely need to use a shampoo that helps pump up the volume. Using a large dollop, this lathers well and rinses clean. It also has a nice scent that is definitely not very strong. As far as increased volume -- maybe. I have been using it over my other usual products and it seems to be helping. I do need conditioner and wish I had also gotten that in this brand so I could get the full enhancement volume that I like.
