Q: What are the inserts made of?

These are not made of all bamboo. Only outer 2 layers are bamboo, the inner 2 layers are microfiber.

Q: What disposable inserts fit these diapers?

You can use any standard insert into these as well as any flat or prefold diaper folded into a pad form and use them as inserts. The poop rinses off of these diapers well. You can also get some fleece diaper liners to put on top (not in the pocket) and that will make cleaning poopy diapers easier as all you need to do is lift the liner out and rinse it off.

Q: What's the max size in weight for these? My 18 month old is already 30 lbs and I'm having trouble finding bigger cloth diapers that fit her

They might fit. I tried them on my 38 lb 4 yr old to see if they could be used as a night time diaper and they were only a tiny bit tight.

Q: How do i get rid of the smell that still stays even after washing them?

If you are washing them in a washing machine and using a dryer that will cause the smell. Use cold water to wash and hang dry. Also, you do not want to use a lot of soap as that builds up and helps to create the smell. Try not to strip your cloth diapers as that ruins the PUL and TPU materials and over time will cause leeks. You can also, buy flats, prefolds or cotton receiving blankets and use them by folding them into the pad fold and use as inserts. They will not retain smell and dry faster. Plus you can safely wash and dry those as normal. Just wash the diapers on cold and hang dry.
