Good choice
Just what I needed--a small radio that I can listen to with earphones in bed at night. Important to me that the sound is heard through both earbuds (even if not stereo). AM and FM. You tune to the station so can adjust as needed (as opposed to there being buttons that give you a station but don't allow you to adjust the tuning). I like that the volume control is part of the on/off switch so that you can adjust the volume each time as needed, rather than being set to a certain volume when the volume control is separate from the on/off switch.

Actually works
A battery radio that actually works. Too expensive for what it is but at least it’s well made. I threw out money on cheap battery radios that conked out within weeks.

High Quality Pocket Radio
This is a great radio. I’m glad I ordered when I did. The sound is very nice and reception is excellent. This radio is very sensitive and easy to tune. Build quality is excellent. I’m ordering another when they are in stock again. Shipping was very fast thank you Radio Shack. Another classic!

"Average At Best"
This is o.k. for a cheap am/fm radio, which is what I was looking for, but speaker quality is average at best and stations fade in and out a lot. Better to find a little more expensive or higher quality radio just to improve sound quality alone.

It fits in nicely with the collection and may well be a piece of history in the coming years.
I'm loving this little Shack Monster. It fits in nicely with the collection and may well be a piece of history in the coming years. Features I like about this radio: Step tuning done well. AM reception is excellent...reminds me of my NIA. FM reception is also good for this size radio. Audio quality is nice from the speaker. Two tone color scheme is very retro...I like retro! Overall, this radio needs more testing and head to head comparisons to see how it fares as a supposed top tier AM DXing portable . If you find it for under $20 and its mint, go ahead and buy one. Its worth that price.
