Check the country of origin before you buy electronics, games, etc.
I ordered this from Amazon for my son for Christmas. When he opened it, he found it would not work in his device. When he checked the tiny print in the package it said it would only work on European devices. When we went to return it, we found that we were responsible for shipping...$95.00. I really wish Amazon would clearly label items for sale only in Europe. We now own a game we cannot use. Nor can we resell it in the US.

Works only on European / Australian systems
The game didn't work on my American 3DS. It said nowhere in the specs in Amazon that this game would only work on European/Australian systems. Feel very disappointed.

A great game with hours of fun
A fantastic game filled to the brim with content, this game will keep you occupied for hours on end with that "just one more level" feeling, all the characters in the game feel distinct and exactly how that character should feel and you can unlock alot of the characters (including the bad guys) in adventure mode which is awesome! ghirahim is very fabulous and fun to play. you may be looking at this game like "but i already have the wii u version, why should i buy the same game again?" well as a person who also has the wii u version, this version feels very different, with the original story intact (which you play through on legends mode again) but with additional stories, theres linkles story, each episode of her story is unlocked at certain points during the original story for you to complete whenever you want, theres also Cia's tale, which can also be unlocked with the original story, once you have completed the main story, all cia's tale missions (her story basically) and all of linkle's story you can unlock the wind waker campaign! which i wont spoil for you but it is great with fun and colourful characters to play with like tetra, the king and toon link. they have also done the cool thing of including all the dlc from the wii u version (already in the game, no purchase required) except this time it requires you to use adventure mode to unlock them, such as completeing some missions with an "A" rank will get you one of these dlc costumes! which is really neat! I fully recommend this game for any zelda or dynasty warriors fan, perhaps if you dont know zelda but you like dynasty warriors, this game could introduce you to the zelda series.

Excellent Game for either system
As I do not own a Wii U, I was excited to hear that I would be able to play this spinoff on my 3ds, not only that but it was given extra features to make it seem like less of a port. While it is clearly less graphically stunning than what I've seen of the Wii U version, it plays well on the New 3ds system and looks decent enough. There are plenty of features in the game to keep you interested and despite being primarily a hack and slash, there is some strategic thinking needed on higher difficulties. Maybe not Fire Emblem strategic thinking, but it keeps you on your toes. I love the zelda element crossed with the over the top dynasty warriors game play and narrative, and think the developers did a great job celebrating all that is zelda through this game. The main issue I see people having with this game is that it doesn't look as good as the Wii U version, but if this game had come out purely on the 3ds, everyone would have found it astounding. If you haven't played this game, pick up either version as it is a solid fun game with hours of content.

Wii U vs 3DS version
I'm writing this review for anyone who already owns the Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors and is wondering whether the 3DS version is worth purchasing.Below are listed the new features that appear in the 3DS version (this is based on what I've experienced so there may be more that I've missed):- Extended story mode to include new characters e.g. Linkle, Wind Waker characters- Added functionality to be able to switch to various characters on a map. This makes things a bit more tactical and easier to get gold skulltulas when they appear on the other side of the map. Also helps to keep variety.- There are now Owl Statues that appear on the maps (but not all) that can be used to teleport around.- When special mobs are about to perform a strong attack an icon highlighting there weakness (e.g. bombs) will flash above their head for a few seconds and if you hit them with that item while the icon is showing, it will disrupt the attack, and reveal the weak point gauge. My total hours played on the Wii U version is 138 hours (and still going). So far I'm 18 hours into the 3DS version and thoroughly enjoying it. There are few games that can capture my interest longer than a couple of weeks, and this is one of them. The new features are enough to make the game feel fresh while enhancing the game play from the Wii U version. The only issue I have with the 3DS version is changing items e.g. bombs. You have to use the Dpad to change them which isn't easy as you have to either stop moving and spend a few seconds changing (leaving you vulnerable) or use your right hand and stop attacking while you switch item. As mentioned before regarding the special mobs weakness to items, by the time you've scrolled through the items and found the right one, it is too late and you've missed the window of opportunity. Obviously once you learn who's weak to which item you can pre-empt, but it does get frustrating. The Wii U was much more smooth as you could quickly use the touch screen on the controller to change items with your thumb.I would definitely recommend Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS. I really enjoy that I can now take the game with me while travelling. I would also say that the game runs better on 3DS than it does Wii U, however only on the new 3DS (I've heard it runs terribly on the old one although I haven't tried it, luckily I treated myself to the Hyrule Special Edition New 3DS as a treat).

Dubious and Single Player only
This one is a mixed bagOn the one hand, Dynasty Warriors with Zelda characters is great, as a single player experience there are many many good things to say about it, the characters all feel different and all fun to play as, there are a lot of them and plenty of content to play throughThe added content over the WiiU version is a massive point in favor of this versionUnfortunately the game cries out for multiplayer, which you can't do on this versionIt's clear that the game wasn't built with the 3DS in mind, you can see that the game is running in a higher resolution than the screen by the way things blur as they move across it, it noticeably lags very frequently and the controls are not well suited. The camera in particular is a huge problemWhile most of the additional content is good, the MyFairy system almost completely ruins the entire game single handedlyThe moment you patch the game you'll get 2 of the damned things and then there's no opt-out from them, the game will relentlessly badger you about the various asinine subtleties of dressing them up and feeding them for a while, you'll be forced to select one every time you enter a battle and then they hardly do anything unless you waste your otherwise-very-powerful magic meter on their weak attacks... and then on the victory screen there they are, trying to take credit for a battle they had no involvement inSometimes they speak too, this is bad, they are not likable characters in any way, and yet there they are adding to your menu time and bobbing there distractingly on the results screen, it's like having an unpleasant relative sat on top of your tv screen and farting loudly on occasion, it only detracts from the experience and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever

Absolutely Brilliant!
Another brilliant game for any Zelda fan!Having previously purchased the Wii U version and loving it, I simply had to get the 3DS version too! it is exactly the same game (near enough) as the Wii U only it's portable and some of the play style is different. I thoroughly enjoy it, it's relaxing but exciting and as you progress throughout the game the difficulty rises. You do have a lot of options and as you unlock more playable characters you have increased control over the level of difficulty.Yes this is a hack and slash game, but the levels are long, some are very difficulty and it's suitable for people of most ages with at least an average skill level. I highly recommend this. Also, in the box you will receive codes to use on the Wii U version for more play content! it's perfect!
