love Laurie’s humor and perspectives
Another enjoyable read from Laurie Notaro. Quite often she makes me laugh out loud. Can’t wait to read Laurie’s next book.

Housebroken is ROFL....
I completely identify with Laurie Notaro -- I grew up with an Italian grandmother who taught me all about gravy and macaroni. But I'm not even close to being as funny as Laurie when recounting tales of my youth. When I read Laurie's books, I am ROFLOL every time. She Is Hilarious and I promise you, your sides will hurt from the laughs of reading her work.

So funny I had to make myself stop
I received a digital copy through net galley in return for a review. This book was so funny I had to buy the physical copy to take with me everywhere! I almost read it all in one sitting. This is just as funny and oddly relatable as her other books. I've noticed that almost every other book has reviews on its cover saying they're laugh out loud, will make you smile funny; however this is one of the few that will actually deliver. This is the type of book that has stories you will want to pass on to others and also read again. Digital copies are popular, but I have many of Notaro's other in books in physical copies because they're so good I read them at home, in the car, on the train, on the plane, on a boat, with a goat.....(yes really)...

my high expectations were not met....sorry
After reading so many “heavy” books I started to look deliberately for one that was funny. I really wanted a lighter read! I researched for a while and found this novel, rated by most as hilarious.I picked this book up with huge expectations, and maybe that is why it struggled to meet them.Do not get me wrong. It was a pleasurable read and there were parts in the book that made me laugh (or at least got few smirks out of me), but rating it hilarious would be exaggerating. What turned me off the most was that it was not a story divided into chapters, but more a compilation of short essays by the same author. Closer to the end I couldn’t wait for the book to finish, and completely skipped the pages with food recipes.Maybe it wasn’t that funny, and maybe I am just into this type of books and should stick with the heavy reads and non-funny novels.

Laugh out loud funny and bonus recipes to try! Woo hooo!
I've loved Laurie Notaro's writing since she was a columnist at the Arizona Republic. I was so disappointed when she left (didn't realize that she was fired...stupid newspaper lost their best writer), but have enjoyed all of her books. I read this book on vacation and my spontaneous outbursts of laughter had my friend so curious, she wanted to read it after I finished. I'm excited to try all the recipes in the book, but since Laurie is so funny, now I have to wait to get the book back from my friend...sigh...One of the things I love about Notaro's writing is that while I know she's pretty liberal in her politics, she doesn't rub it in your face the way other authors do. I don't expect politics inserted into a quilt mystery, but it happened. Keep writing, Laurie! We still love you in Arizona!

So funny!
This book was so funny! I was laughing out loud through most of the book. Her storytelling is great and it's like listening to a funny friend. I would recommend.

Decent book
I enjoy Laurie Notaro's books. Always good for a laugh. The recipes were cool too I did not expect them in the book.

Hilarious as expected
Reading this book felt like reconnecting with an old friend I haven't seen in years, and picking up right where we left off, with the giggles reaching occasional crescendos of pee-your-pants laughter.Perfectly relatable for Gen Xers like me.My favorite part of this book had to be the cheese class, and the runner up would be the recipes. Can't wait to try my hand at her Pink Sauce.
