Awesome
I was a little skeptical buying used through Amazon, but the item came exactly as described and functions perfectly. I am happy to have an amazing quality product at a fraction of the full price. My family has enjoyed the immersion of 7.2 surround sound!

Excelente Sonido
Buen Sonido.

A great value for what you get.
It took two tries but I like the results. The first receiver was DOA. The vendor was quick to send out another receiver. The firmware on this receiver needs work. I hope Pioneer works out the kinks. The connectivity options are great as is the video. The receiver works flawlessly with Audirvana and works well with DSD128. The remote control buttons even work back through my network to Audirvana. The room correction with phase correction is much better than my decade old previous receiver. The detail I am getting is very close to what I hear with a dedicated DAC and headphone amplifier. I very much like the dialog control for video content. The receiver lacks suffisticated compression and dynamic EQ, or video controls. It has compression and EQ , but just on or off. This lack of things to screw up might grow on me. There is much to be said for simplicity.

Pioneer does not disappoint
This receiver was a bit difficult to install. The way the speaker wires connect is not well placed but hopefully I am done with that now. Also I used the automatic setup but was not happy with the results. I did a manual setup and now this thing sounds good! I am extremely happy with the sound and function. I replaced an old Onkio receiver that had quit working and this one blows that one out of the water. This Pioneer will play all the speakers when listening to music which always irritated me about the Onkio not doing that. I still have my same speakers and the sound is crisp and clear and loud. Up to 50 the volume is pretty low and gradual adjust which is nice for listening low but top level 50 and it gets loud fast. My ears can only handle up to 68 and then its too loud. I seriously couldn't be more happy. This thing surpasses my expectations. Very happy with my purchase. It even has an rf remote and dual zone speaker output if I want to put speakers in a different room or on the deck. The display is clear and not too busy with a dimmer on it. Where I have it its not very visible but is a good looking receiver I wouldn't mind having prominently visible. Very glad I picked this Pioneer out.

Digitally limits everything
I have had Pioneer products going back to the 70s (oh that those still worked! SO much better!) I wanted to "upgrade" to a newer receiver w/front USB port as all my music is now stored on USB drives. This enables that whereas my still operational Sony unit from 2004 did not. That part is fine. This unit has terminals for my 5.1 speaker set up in Living Room and Zone 2. I use Zone 2 for outdoor speakers on our patio, to play music by the pool. After endless hours of trial, research, trying to contact Pioneer, etc., I have determined that the geniuses at Pioneer have decided for the consumer what sources can be played on Zone 2, what cannot. USB front port is not allowed.I do not care that it facilitates all sorts of streaming, wifi, BT etc. I use none of that nor will I ever. Wifi antennas are disabled and/or removed from every device in my house, including the new refrigerator. No one needs this stuff and it serves no legitimate purpose! So, if you are young, do not care that all this digital control makes decisions for you and are perfectly fine with everything in life monitoring you, go for it!If you're older (60s), much wiser, just want something that YOU can actually decide what functions, settings, sources YOU wish to use, skip this!I am diligently searching for something that has sufficient speaker outputs, lets me decide what I choose to listen to and where. I do not have nor use any home theater setup. We haven't seen 20 movies in the past 30 years as it's all immoral garbage. I want to listen to music I choose, I own, on my speakers, wherever I want to be. Be that inside or out. Potentially, but rarely, simultaneously.Just like with the incessant and completely unnecessary digital complication of all automobiles, the older, manual controls were more than adequate and a design that cannot be improved upon (think A/C levers on a 1970s GM - best design ever1). If however, the issue isn't functionality, rather compliance and control...... Oh to find a fully operational 1977 SX-1250......

Excellent home entertainment receiver.
This receiver has so many features it will take you a few days of exploring around to figure it all out. The mic it comes with when setting up the speakers gets you a baseline but you will have to go back in and manually adjust the volume settings on each speaker and turn it up and the distance too will have to be extended if you want the true good sound this receiver will produce. It has a feature that allows you to sync it with a ROKU remote and when you turn on your ROKU it also turns on the receiver and it controls the volume to. The Bluetooth works great too which was another selling point for me since I like to stream music. Great receiver I recommend and Amazon has a very good price if you have a tight budget!

Alexa
I've always used Pioneer as a go to receiver. I purchased this because I wanted to control it through Alexa. I've only got that to work a couple times, and then it would only play one song from my setlist at a time. Had to keep telling Alexa to play my favorite on every song. I used this unit to replace a 5.1 Denon receiver. As far as the sound separation of the speakers I like the pioneer. I've only had it a short while and I am sure I still need to dink around with it. So far I will rate this unit at two and a half to three stars.
