This is an interesting pillow. I came across this pillow trying to find the thinnest memory foam pillow possible. There are a handful of pillows on Amazon that are basically the same shape and thickness as this pillow. What caught my eye with this pillow and got me to pull the trigger on buying it, was the added bolster cover that enables you to convert the larger thin pillow into a smaller thicker pillow. It’s a simple idea, but it really does enhance the value of the pillow. It’s basically 2 pillows in 1.The pillow comes with several inserts showing suggestions of the different ways you can use the pillow. Most of them are kind of obvious but some are not and it’s helpful in re-orienting how you view and use the pillow. I use it as a bed pillow under my head of course, but when I’m not in bed, I’ve been using it all over the house. I work from home so during regular “work hours” I use it in my office chair for back support. When I’m relaxing on the couch, I change it into the bolster pillow and use it to rest my iPad on or to read a book. Time for bed and it’s back to being a regular bed pillow again!One small note that I should add because I completely overlooked it when I bought the pillow, but the pillow has this smooth mesh-like inner cover that surrounds the pillow. I’ve never seen this on a pillow before. What is the benefit of this cover? Well, it makes taking off and putting the cover back on much much easier. It just slides in and out of the cover, which is nice considering how often I switch from the regular sized cover to the smaller bolster cover.If you’re looking for a thin pillow, but also want something that can do more than just sit under your head while sleeping, then I highly recommend this pillow.

I just want to say up front that my low-scored rating doesn't have to do with the quality of the pillow itself, but with how it met my personal comfort "needs". I wanted to try this out after I tried out the "Coop Home Goods Eden Shredded Memory Foam Pillow" because I like much flatter pillow, and although that one was adjustable in that you can add or remove the filling, it seemed like an empty and lumpy bag with zero support once I adjusted it to the height/loft that I'm comfortable with. I thought since this/these pillows here were made from solid memory foam they'd have more support and not feel lumpy like the shredded foam did (at least it did with the small amount of foam I was using in it). I will say that all the different height options this pillow(s) provides you with is really nice, and I was able to find a height close to what I like. However, these were honestly just too firm for me. I stated getting a headache and a bit of a neck ache while laying on it, and whenever I tried to push my head into the pillow a bit to get it "just right", the memory foam would just push my head right back up. With it being so firm, it also felt like a bit of a lump/bump under my neck, which is something I can't stand and is uncomfortable for me. I like my pillow to be flatter (about one or two of these 1/2" thick foam layers/inserts by themselves was close to the right height for me), but I also want it to be somewhat soft, or at least have a softer layer on top that doesn't feel hard against my head. Pillows are obviously a very individual preference and what one person loves another person might hate, so take my review for what it's worth. If you like your pillows to be flat as well as really firm, then you just may find this pillow/these pillows to be right for you. Returning it was fast and easy. For what it's worth, I was finally able to find something to rest my head on that is just about perfect for me, although it's not a pillow. Instead, it's just one of those really soft throw blankets with slightly longer "shag" that I fold in half twice (lengthwise then width-wise), and then I just place my satin pillow case on top of it and it feels nice. I was just desperate for something to sleep on until I could find the "right" pillow, so I tried it out and it actually works very nicely for me since it's pretty flat yet still soft enough for my head, and it's also able to be adjusted a bit by "punching" it into place if needed.

Wow, just what I needed! I've had neck problems for 30 years and know the importance of a good pillow. But after accidentally leaving a good pillow behind on vacation last summer, I'd been having a hard time finding one that fit me perfectly, so I've been waking up with neck pain daily for quite a while. This pillow is perfect because I made it work for me. Today is the first time in probably a year that I woke up without neck pain.Nothing special about the materials, but the concept is brilliant.

I had a flat, really flat - less than 3/4" pillow for over a decade. Yep, pretty gross. However, I could not find anything that was close to that profile and nothing else would work. I had resorted to having to buy a memory foam topper and cut it to a queen pillow size until I found this pillow system. With inserts at1/2" thick, this is absolutely perfect for building up the perfect pillow. Thank you LumaLife. Oh, and zero smell - none. Fresh out of the box! Not the 24 hour detox period you have with most foam pillows. If you want a really flat pillow, look no further.

I've waited a few weeks to leave a review, because I wanted to use the pillow for a bit first. I used to sleep with an OLD down pillow that had basically been reduced to nothing over the years. It was very flat and "limp" which allowed me to fold/ curl/ roll/ ball it up depending on how I wanted to sleep. While this isn't that flexible, it does still flex enough that I can sleep in whatever position is comfortable at the time.Pros:- Structured, yet flexible- Medium softness- Flat enough that my neck isn't stiff in the morningCons:- Memory foam does get warm. Not excessive, but warm enough. I found a Tencel pillow cover that helps cool the pillow down more quickly here on Amazon which has pretty well negated this issue.Overall, I'm VERY happy with this purchase, and will probably but another to leave at my parents place soon enough.
