Below Deck

This is the 3rd book by Tara that I have read & thoroughly enjoyed it. It is the love story of Declan McGillis a deckhand on a luxury charter yacht & Mackenzie Armstrong, a wealthy girl who is on a cruise holiday with her father & his new wife & daughter (step).The story is fresh & has a feel of youngish to it. Declan comes out as a strong character with depth but at the same a bit of immaturity in understanding the situation between him & Mackenzie. So go ahead, download, read and enjoy the story. I had to read this after being a fan of Tara and the tv show! It was light and easy to read, with an arrogant male lead who has a big mouth and always says the wrong thing. Lucky Mackenzie is the forgiving type..

This is my second Tara book, and I loved it! A really great summer by the pool read, I'd say. Light and easy (you'll see what I did there when you've read it!!), yet tonnes of angst and wanting to throttle both our hero and heroine at times for not using their words, it still made me smile. A great read!

Just wow.... not much else to say other than I absolutely loved this story!! Tara is my favourite author and she never disappoints, EVER! I laughed I cried I got angry and I wished I was cruising in the Virgin islands.I can't wait for her next book the story of us.

Declan and Mackenzie lay eyes on each other and are instantly attracted but there's a bit of enemies to lovers romance here as well. The settings are lush and there is a bit of angst. I loved it.

I am normally a lover of Sivec's books. Out of all of her books, this was my least favorite. Now, before you bring out the pitch forks, I am not saying I didn't like it. It just isn't on my favorite list. I guess I can't love them all. (insert sad face)I have been trying for a couple of weeks to put my finger on what didn't do it for me with this one. This is one of the romances that just didn't grab me and hold on. There is good banter and chemistry between Mackenzie and Declan. Their story is written well...I just didn't like the characters. When I don't like the characters, I have a hard time jumping on board with their story. Sivec is a phenomenal writer. Give her a genre to write, she will nail it. I have paid attention to the reviews. I see why people loved it. Unfortunately, I just couldn't jive with these characters.I know many of you will probably like this one, if not love it. I just needed something more from this book.
