Unreliable & Risky Testing
I have Type 2 Diabetes and I test frequently. I have always used One Touch brand so when I saw a generic with good reviews and priced very low, I decided to try them. My first order was for 100 and I felt they were fairly accurate. However, they tested higher than what I thought was normal and compared occasionally to the one touch brand results. The standard allows a 20% deviation and these were that much or more. I went ahead and ordered the 200 count thinking the savings was worth the deviation. I opened a vial from this order today and I tested at 336 mml. I was shocked. I immediately washed my hands thinking some mystery residue was on my fingers. Did a second test and the reading was 350. Waited about 10 minutes and tested again ..... 177. Got out my one touch supply, tested and my blood glucose was 90. Normal for me. I'm convinced these test strips are not at all reliable. I will throw them all away. I would not recommend these test strips at all. Here's what really upsets me. These test strips should not even be offered. None of us take testing lightly. It's the one sure way to know we are not destroying our internal organs or incurring nerve damage that results in a painful existence. It's a daily struggle and it makes me sad to think that a product like this could overstate or even worse understate the blood glucose levels we seek to control.

Genultimate Blood Glucose Test Strips are Consistent and Superior to OEM test strips for over a year. Highly Recommend
My dad and I both use One Touch Ultra meters. My dad uses the name brand One Touch Ultra strips because insurance pays for them. The in results and testing in the control range listed on the bottle. We cannot say the same for the name brand One Touch Ultra teat strips. For the past year we have been testing the One Touch against the Genultimate test strips and found that the One Touch strips test on average 30 points higher than the Genultimate strips. My dads quarterly A1c average blood glucose tests were inline with what Genultimate test strips have shown. The OEM One Touch Ultra teat strips have NOT been inline with the A1c test and when ever we do a control test on the One Touch strips they are almost always and the high end of the control range and once above it. We do the Control test every time we open a fresh vile of strips. So far I have to say the Genultimate strips are excellent quality and consistent and the best part is that on average they are 1/4 the cost of the name brand One Touch Ultra test strips.

They fit the bill.
I've been prediabetic for 11 years with an average A1C hovering around 5.8 and a fasting glucose around 104. Lately, my fasting glucose has been creeping up to around 113. Im trying to reverse this condition thru intermittent fasting and very low carb eating.I've had these test strips for 24 hours. Of course, the first thing I did was compare them to my brand name strips. The argument can be made that this is meaningless, but the one time I had the opportunity to compare my fasting glucose to a lab result, my brand name system was within 2 points. My initial findings are that these strips read an average of about 6 points higher than my brand name strips. Pretty consistently. This is not bad since readings only have to be accurate within 15%. This morning, my brand name strips measured a fasting glucose of 97. These generic strips measured it at 106. I then did a back to back with the generic strips, and the reading was 118. At first I got a bad feeling about that. But you know what? That second reading was well within the 15% tolerance, and as far as the FDA is concerned, that's good enough. For someone like me who is only tracking trends and doesn't need to adjust medications, I think it makes sense to say these strips are ideal since they're cheaper than what I can get with a prescription. At least the strips read higher, which will make me reinforce my efforts instead of giving me a false sense of success. My next A1C test will be the final deciding factor.

these do not work very well.
these do not work very well in my one touch ultra mini, it takes about 4 test strips every time to get a reading, it takes about 5 minutes to even get it to register before testing..... when you first insert the test strip you get nothing, you have to keep maneuvering it around until you finally get the screen to test and then when you apply the blood, you get an error message, causing you to have to start all over again...I have always heard you get what you pay for and I for one will not waste my money on these again.
