Great name badge
I use these for volunteers, print them from a spread sheet. Works very well

Great product at great price
I made name tags for our 50th high school reunion. Avery provides a template online to customize the name badges; we added high school grad photos as well as names. Badges include a string as a sort of lanyard. We were on a tight budget; these were inexpensive and good enough for the night of our party.

Professional-looking, but take time to assemble
My company hosts several events per year, and I’ve used these hanging nametags countless times. They can easily be loaded into a printer. Directions are straightforward. No pins or sharp things involved! Microsoft Word even has a mail merge template for pulling data from an Excel spreadsheet of names to generate nametags. The nametags look very professional and are durable enough to last through longer events (everyday use for 2 weeks is the longest I’ve used them). I've only used them for indoor events -- this may be obvious, but they are definitely not suitable for active events involving running/sports! My main criticism is they take time to assemble. Once you properly format the nametags on your computer and print on the paper, you must tear along the perforated lines to remove the nametags from the sheet, then insert them into the plastic holders by hand. Finally, you must string the plastic holders. With many nametags in a pile, the string can become tangled together. Managers take note: if you don’t have 1-2 people on your team to help, this will require time! Especially with a large number of nametags, this is not something that can be done by one person 10 minutes before your event. If you are short on time/people, you may want to consider adhesive nametags. These hanging nametags do look nicer than the adhesive variety, however. Another note: there are 6 nametags per page, so if you make an error on one or accidentally rip it, it seems a bit wasteful to print it on a new sheet, and have to throw away the 5 unused nametags. Once nametags have been torn from the sheet, you cannot reprint on the unused paper. I’ve tried it, and this will jam the printer. Additionally, depending on the printer you have, paper jams and ink smudges can be common. Before printing, make sure you adjust your printer’s settings to tell it you’re printing on thicker paper than ordinary 8.5'' x 11''. Alternatively, you may need to manually feed the paper in, one sheet at a time. Also, make sure you order enough extra nametags in case you make errors. There's nothing worse than being short 1-2 nametags. At the end of an event, I’ve found it useful to have a ‘nametag recycling’ box so I can at least reuse the plastic holders and string next time around. While you can purchase the nametag paper refills separately, the plastic pouches and string must be purchased in a full kit with the paper.

I have used many name badges before, and these are good and economic.

Very Good Name Badge Holders
Our camera club has used these before and they work well so I reordered. Delivered extremely quickly and nothing was damaged. In a water resistant delivery bag rather than a box, which makes sense for small items. We will buy these again when needed. Actual paper badges are included but would only work if you have a printer that will print 1 x 3. I actually print and cut plain heavier stock paper. String hangers are very easy to apply to the badge holder and are much preferred over pins and often people can't use the metal clip.

These worked superbly for my project. Although the paper sheets are not guaranteed if you run them through your printer more than once, I tried it anyway with very nice results. A colored emblem was needed on a corner of the tags, and everything else needed to be black & white. So, using a blank template at Avery.com, I first printed all of the colored emblem sheets at one time, saving it as 'sheet 2' using 'edit all' (in case it is needed again later). After the colored ink completely dried, I put one of these sheets at a time into the printer to add the B & W pictures. On template 'sheet 1', click to edit each tag individually (icon for this is on the right of the Avery page). Leave the colored icon on the tag you're working on, only long enough to get proper alignment for the text & pictures, then delete it so it won't be printed over in black (should be a blank space there now). I only printed the pictures one whole page at a time. Going back to 'sheet 1' after each printing, delete & substitute new pictures/names so that the alignment for the pictures and text boxes stay in their proper position. Be sure to change over from 'color' to 'B&W' on the print page. The only minor problem I found with these tags was that the left hand excess paper to be torn off was super tiny & hard to bend to tear off. You may want to use scissors or a paper cutter.

Good quality
I've gotten these badges several times both online and in office supply stores. They are durable and the strings are not the flimsy kind that tangle badly. These strings (lanyard around neck) will tangle but you can wrap string and insert into plastic badge to reuse for regular meetings. They're large enough to write first and last names with pretty large letters (or you can do on computer). I usually do calligraphy to add a special touch.
