wow!
Top 5 favorite book! Christian does redeemed himself, I understood why he cheated. Don’t forgive him for putting her through hell, but he suffered so much for it.

What a book!!!
Updated 27 June 2017Where is the audiobook verdios of this book? It surely deserves one. Just re-read Lady Gallant. Still a gem.I'm not a romance book reader. My first choice of genre is post apocalyptic, but I gave this book a try because I love the movie Elizabeth....really anything with Kate Blanchett.Let me tell you, beware of this book. Pleas only read it at home or behind closed doors. I made the mistake of reading part of the book outside in the parking lot of my daughter's school while waiting for volleyball practice to end. I was a sopping wet mess. Tears were falling and snot was running. Two people stopped and asked me if I was ok. I told them Ihad very bad allergies. The tissue I had was scattered all over my face. I was a mess. There are hot and sensual scenes, not too much, but just the right amount that made me say damn! Christian and Nora are fantastic. The hero was a rake and an azz, but heroine made him pay the price for how savagely he treated her. She forgave him eventually... By the end of the story she, really both of them had power.I,love, love, love this book. I've re-read this story twice. Thank you Ms. Suzanne Robinson. This is the best romance novel I have EVER read...period.I also would to add that, I noted that The hero had a split personality. Not too dramatic, but it was still there. Kit emerged from Christian as a result of dealing with Jack Midnight during his child hood. Kit developed to help Christian deal with the traumatic events. As an adult Kit emerged when he had to deal with stressful situations and rake people. When the hero and heroin first had sex/made love, it was Kit and Nora. The subsequent times they made love, it was Christian and Nora. When the hero interacted with his father, it was Christian. I loved the part when Christian humbled himself before his father. Kit was mean to Nora, and a few seconds later when he presented his new bride to his father, He kneeled before his father and was very gentle and reverent, that was Christian.Great story!!!

Lady Gallant - Kindle edition - great groveling by the H
Spoiler alert: Lady Gallant by Suzanne Robinson.Lots of angst in this book. For one thing, the time period of the story lends itself to a very unsettled society. People were forced to take sides and that could well prove deadly. Tough time to fall in love. The Hero betrayd the heroine because he thought she had betrayed him. In fact, the mousey girl whose father wanted only to be rid of her turns out to have a spine and nerves of steel. The Hero is a rake but he is drawn to the heroine in spite of himself. He weds her only to find that she is spying. He believes she is spying on him and has caused him harm. This book is set in a difficult time in England and spies abounded. In fact the Hero and the heorine are on the same side, but the hero does not know that until after he has made a complete horse's end out of himself. He's pretty hot headed and also wickedly vindictive.I mean wickedly vindictive to the heroine. It was painful to read.Once he finds he was wrong, he does an amazing job of groveling which is pretty satisfying. The best thing is that she did not forgive him immediately.Major spoiler alert: They do get their HEA and it's believable.

Nora Beckett was in Queen Mary's court. She was ...
Nora Beckett was in Queen Mary's court. She was attacked by highwayman and Christain de Rivers saved her . He was abducted when a child and taught to steal, rob and any other dishonest thing he could do for his captor. His father could not find him right away and Christian turn hard and cold. He marries Nora and at first was kind to her.He then was told she was sending messages to someone .He thought she was plotting against Elizabeth . She refuses to say who she sends them and at this point he is so evil to her. He takes her to his home only allowing pimps and whores to care for her. He parades her in front of them talking about how plain and ugly she is.. He then waits till she goes to bed and proceeds to have sex with one of the whores. He makes sure she can hear. She hearing the noise comes into the room. I thought from this and what else occurs that night heartbreaking . He begins to realize what he has done but he has a long way to grovel to make things right. So many more details are given in other reviews won't go in to them again. I have read this book and it is a keeper.

Didn't deliver quite the emotional satisfaction I was craving
I'm hovering with my rating. It's a two or a three. I can't decide. There was a lot to love about Lady Gallant. The intrigue and the humor were both enjoyable. I found myself caring for a few of the side characters, which is always a plus. Add in that this takes place in the Tudor court (spies, lies, death, oh my!), something I'm a bit fanatical about, and this should have been a homerun emotional, historical romance for me.But...Now, keep in mind I searched out this book because I was looking for a cheating hero who has to grovel to get back into good graces. I get in moods where that's really all I want to read. However, the groveling needed to fully redeem this 'hero' was sorely lacking. Christian was pretty horrific for a spell and even when he seemed to had learned his lesson, he really hadn't and it needed to be learned several more times.I won't be giving up on Suzanne Robinson, I'll check out some of her other titles, but this one definitely didn't deliver quite the emotional satisfaction I was craving.

PASSIONATE TUDOR ROMANCE
Christian de Rivers Lord Monfort, son of the Earl of Vasterne is a favourite at the court of Mary Tudor. Taken by a band of cut throats as a boy, taught to rob, steal, lie and cheat. It was some time before his father found him and took him home. The result was a nobleman with a disregard for propriety, he still retained his outlaw friends and enjoyed their company often. His loving father tolerated Christian's behaviour as did Queen Mary.Nora Beckett was one of Mary's ladies, dubbed by the other ladies-in-waiting as mouse, because of her timid manners. But Nora has the heart of a lion, which always comes to the fore in the defence of the weak wether it be humans or animals. When she's accosted on the road by robbers it's Christian and his band of brigands who save her. Christian is handsome and dashing and he soon becomes entranced with the little mouse. This is a very well written story set in the tudor period in the reign of Mary Tudor "Bloody Mary". There's a short introduction at the beginning for those unfamiliar with this era, briefly explaining the events during this time in history. The characters were well drawn, in particular I really liked Nora, she might appear weak but that was just a facade, she's a very brave and loyal woman. Christian is a complex and very difficult character to like, had this been a romance set in the present I'm quite sure I would have dismissed him without a second thought as he is at times extremely unpleasant, in particular to Nora. There's plenty of intrigue, drama and angst to satisfy everyone, but at heart it's a romance. I really enjoyed it.

I do love a good grovel...
This popped up on my recommended list due to previous purchases. For some reason (!) I really like a story where we get to hear from the H's point of view, and particularly enjoy a good grovel. This ticked that box, with the H having to grovel for several weeks.. Not bad at all, and enjoyed the description of life in past times. Recommended.

good read
I think there was not grovelling as compared to the crimes the H committed as revenge ….I still did not feel vindictive enough by the end of the story
