Nightworld Academy: Term One

Great start to a new series....
A great start to a new series. I haven't been able to put this book down and am excited for Term 2. Term 1 introduces us to Maeve. A Misfit, plagued by visions, she has been forced to hide from her friends and family, all her life. After one particular event at her previous school, Maeve is moved to Ravenwood Academy aka Nightworld Academy. On arriving Maeve soon learns everything and everyone are not all they seem. Welcome to the teenage world of shifters, vamps and witches and the daily battles they live with, hiding from the unsuspecting humans who have in the past hunted them. This book takes you on a meet and greet of all the main characters. It leads you down a path that is full of mystery and intrigue, clearly setting us up for what is to come. Maeve and her visions add an extra dimension to the story, will she be able to save the day, who will turn her head (lots to choose from).......another great story from LJ Swallow.

Good supernatural school series starter
I like this first book, the mixture of supernaturals is good, I just wish the main character was a bit stronger , also confused as to weather this is RH or not ? But the storyline is different I would definitely recommend if you like the supernatural genre and books set in schools :)

The devil is in the detail ....
As with all Lisa Swallow's books, they are a feast for your eyes and minds. There is so much room for character growth and developing storylines in this 1st book. I hardly feel like we have scratched the surface of the pupils or teachers at Nightworld Academy but where there are Witches, Vamps, Shifters and who knows what else involved, you know its going to be a rollercoaster ride. Our main character has a vulnerability to her, not sure of what she is capable of and struggling to understand the world she has found herself involved in. She is also unsure about the feelings she is having for some of her new friends! I don't want to give away too much and spoil it for any potential readers, so my lips are sealed about the story line.Needless to say, I enjoyed this book thoroughly and genuinely stayed up too late to read it as quickly as i could. I cant wait for book two and hopefully more to follow.

I wish I'd known
I wish I'd realised this was a reverse harem story before I started reading as I really do not like them. This book was okayish. It felt juvenile and I couldn't really warm to Maeve. The thing I disliked most though, was the present tense writing. It is hard to write well in present tense, I think Kelley Armstrong does it really well, unfortunately here, it just grated.

A good start to a new series
I wasn't sure l wanted to start another new series but read a sample and thought I'd give it a try. I like LJ Swallow's writing and this book is no different. The world is revealed gradually and as a reader you share Maeve's confusion about the school and other students but the characters are engaging and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next term.

Love, love, love it! Excellent compelling read.
LJ has really worked magic with this book, what a page turner!Maeve is your not so typical teenager who has her whole world litteraly turned on its axis with in a couple of days of starting boarding school. She finds out why she always felt out of place and an oddball in her old life.I don't want to give to much away, but I will say the characters and story is written in such a way that draws you in and makes you connect with them on a deep level. Can not wait to read the next instalment. Please keep Jamie safe!!

Good read
Enjoyable world Lj has created.Good story line and pacing.I was able to finish the whole book in two sittings in one day. Each character that has been introduced plays a role. The only thing that bothered me was the story being told from the male's POV, it felt a little...stiff.

Great start to the series!
This is what Legacies from the Vampire Diaries should have been like! It was an easy read and I enjoyed the story. It was predictable at some points, but I still enjoyed it. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I loved it!
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This series is a slow-burn sweet why choose romance. Perfect for lovers of books with a strong magical heroine who grows into her powers, swoon-worthy guys who love and protect her, and a supernatural world filled with magic, romance, and mystery. Welcome to Nightworld Academy (Ravenwood Academy to the outside world). At this academy, that is attended by witches, shifters, and vampires, one student's bloodline will be their salvation or a curse. Maeve has witnessed the future in her visions her whole life. Nobody paid attention to her wild imagination until she tried to change events, and a student ended up in the hospital. Now everybody thinks that she needs help with her 'issues', so her parents enrolled her at a new school. Her whole world changed when she stepped into the exclusive academy on the Yorkshire Moors to live with other troubled vampire, witch, and shifter teens. Somebody forgot to give her the memo that she’s a witch. On the plus side, she now has friends who don't think she’s crazy. There's Ash, the rugby team captain and the academy's most popular guy, who just happens to be a shifter. Then there's Andrei, the broody guy with a bad attitude who takes pleasure in annoying her and he's a blood-drinking vampire with self-control issues. Her quirky roommate Amelia takes her under her wing, as does her friend Jamie, the studious and friendly witch who's by her side whenever she needs him. She’s thrust into a world where potion lessons and academy games are fraught with rivalry, and where dangerous insurgents threaten both the hidden supernatural society and humans. She’s discovered that she’s a rare future-sighted witch, and her visions are real, so how does she tell her new friends that one of them will die and that she knows who? I guess we shall find out. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I highly recommend to everyone.

Action and Mystery
A story with an incredible start, the main character being expelled from school having to accept what is offered next, and continue with all the adventures and mystery that lead the main characters to become even closer.

Fantastic Read!
This is a slow burn academy reverse harem. Our heroine find herself in a new world. She is enrolled in a new school that have afternoon and night classes and where nothing is as it seems. She meet new guys with different powers and different story. Maeve is battle with her own power, try to control it and learn it!The story have good plot twist with secrets to discovers, our heroine is strong and will definitely grew up in her powers during the series. I like reading about her guys and I'm curious about their personal story. Can't wait to read book two!

Teeny-Para-Story
