I really love this thing
I really love this thing and spent an entire day running around a range with it without a single problem. Stores plenty of shells, they weren't kidding. Easy to get a gloved hand down in there and grab what you need without having to fuss with is much. I tend to wear size 42 relaxed fit jeans and this fit easily around my waist with room to spare. Belt is sturdy enough you could use it as your own pant belt if you wanted, or you can slide the belt off and run your own belt through the bag which is a nice feature.I'm not going to dock this thing one star because it doesn't have a feature that I knew very well it didn't have, but it would really be nice if there was some sort of flap or cover that could be snapped over the pouch to prevent shells from falling out. Getting in an out of a golf cart requires a bit of extra thought to make sure you don't sit or bump this thing in such a way that it will dump the contents out. I have to consciously remember to put my hand on the top until I'm situated to make sure nothing comes out. This isn't much of a problem if you have maybe half a box in the bag, and maybe once it wears in some it won't be as stiff and will sit closed a bit more.

Allen doesn't disappoint
Nice material. Very durable, fits at least 100 rounds unless you have thick hips, then maybe 200.

Well built.
This is a great range or hunting bag for toting shells.

Reasonable quality for the price
Room for 25 12 ga shells with divided compartment to allow empties to be segregated. Appears to be well made and should hold up.

Simple and portable
I usually shoot trap with pants or shorts that have a knife pocket on them, and that's a perfect place to clip this pouch. It puts it in a perfect place to retrieve shells. This is as basic and no nonsense as it gets, though I'd rather not have to clip higher up at a belt line or it may be more awkward. If you have some tactical pants or shorts with a knife pocket between the front pocket and cargo pocket, this pouch is perfect for you

This pouch works great while I’m at the range, shooting, clay, pigeons, good quality, build, and love the design

Perfect size, good belt clip, light
I shoot trap and It fits a box of 25 shells snugly without struggling to fit it in. The belt clip is large and sturdy - I clip it on another larger Allen nylon belt/pouch combo in order to carry a wad clearer, collect hulls if I'm shooting some decent ammo, etc. It's got a couple of loops to carry an extra shell or two incase of a misfire on the field.

Practical accessory
The Allen Company shotgun shell pouch is a simple, purpose-built accessory that keeps shells within easy reach during clay shooting. Available in a soft canvas version and a hard molded version, it caters to shooters who prefer either lightweight flexibility or sturdy, shape-retaining protection. Both options are designed to stay secure on a belt or vest and provide quick access between rounds.Soft Canvas versionWhat I like about it:Lightweight and flexible: The canvas version is comfortable to wear all day and conforms to your body without adding bulk.Easy to care for: Canvas cleans up well and dries quickly after rain or splashes from the trap or field.Access and capacity: It holds a practical number of shells for a typical skeet or club session and keeps contents accessible with minimal fuss.Versatility: Works well for both clay targets and field use, plus it’s easy to swap between belts or vests.Things to consider:Weather sensitivity: Canvas can soak up moisture if you’re caught in long downpours; a quick dry or spare bag helps.Shape over time: With repeated use, the pouch may soften and lose some of its initial structure, though that doesn’t affect function.Hard Molded versionWhat I like about it:Sturdy protection: The molded shell holds its shape, helping protect shells from landing on hard ground or being crushed during rugged days at the range.Quick, definite access: The rigid form makes it easy to grab a shell with one hand, even while wearing gloves.Stable attachment: Typically sits more securely on belts or vests and won’t sag as easily as a soft pouch when full.Durability: A good choice for frequent shooters who want a long-lasting option that stands up to harsh conditions.Things to consider:Weight and bulk: The molded version is heavier and less flexible, which might feel bulky on long days or if you prefer a sleeker setup.Fit with gear: Depending on your belt or vest system, the rigidity may require a specific mounting style.Clay, trap, and skeet shooters who want reliable shell access in the heat of a round.Hunters or field shooters who favor rugged protection (hard molded) or lighter, more adaptable gear (soft canvas).Anyone looking for a dedicated shell pouch that stays put on a belt or vest during fast-paced shooting sequences. The Allen Company shotgun shell pouch family covers the range from lightweight convenience to rugged durability. If you want a flexible, easy-to-carry option, the soft canvas version is a solid pick. If you need a more protective, shape-retaining pouch that stays rigid and secure, the hard molded version is the better choice. Either way, it’s a practical accessory for clay shooting and field days, helping keep shells organized and reachable between stations.
