Five Stars
One of the greatest films ever made...Though this disc refuses to play on any Region 1 device, and so the part of this listing saying this plays on all regions is wrong. Will need an all-region DVD player to ever watch this.

Class British Hilarity
This is an absolute winner... laugh-out-loud funny - there's something about the Nottinghamshire accent that is just hilarious. Shane Meadows puts it to good use, and our man Chris Cooke does to. This is a darn good flick, and quite poignant by the end, also. It actually benefits from the low budget and unknown actors. Like Meadows, who's best film was his first, Smalltime, Cooke will have a hard time bettering this. Guy sleeping in a tent in his own garden is priceless, as is the role play between the two cabbies. Love it!

This will appeal to anyone who enjoyed "The Office", "The Smoking Room", "Fifteen Stories High", "The Royale Family", or any of Shane Meadows work, Particularly "Northern Soul". Excellent British dead-pan humour.

Utter Trash
Truely a contender for the worst film I've seen this year. Four men who have been convicted of drink-driving attend regular "re-education" sessions in a bid to reduce their probation periods. They are from various walks of life - a retired property millionaire, a cabbie, a struggling security salesman and a recently bereaved boy. The entire film consists of them attending these Americanised classes, visiting their local, getting pissed, then conversing in a language known as "melancholy drivel".Richard is the only one with an ounce of humour left in his body (but I suppose his fortune is the reason for that). Jimmy spends the full 92 minutes moping around with a face like a smacked arse, moaning about how nobody will invest in his internet business venture. Paul is an impotent loser who has such a degree of sweaty hyper-tension to which makes him almost unwatchable. Mark is just a dull cabbie. As for the direction? Well, prepare for your eyes to be raped thanks to Chris Cooke's love of camera angle changes...every...single...second. He thinks he's being dynamic with this MTV style method - but all he succeeded in doing was giving me a headache. The script - one line goes something like "we picked up these really gorgeous girls in our cab, then we dropped them off. It was really good". Enough said. The acting - Hwyel Bennett is the only one who knows what he's doing. The other actors are just happy to be there (and presumably, not relying on state benefit). They either paid or blagged their way into landing the parts. The fact that I haven't seen them in any commercials, movies or grim reality shows (and I watch A LOT of films & TV) besides this should warn you of their "skill".There is however, some mild comic relief in the closing 15 minutes or so, when the four retire to Richard's mansion (after getting pissed for a change). Is this silver lining worth waiting 80 minutes for? I'll answer that for you - no.To sum up, think of this as a feature length episode of Eastenders - only more dreary.

No excuses
I know this is a FilmFour co-production which some might think excuses it from being an academy award winner. But this film is absolutely crap. No story, shady camera work, poor acting and to top it all a cast who have never been heard of... and I hope I never will see them again. This film will not appeal to most people.
