Pretty darn cool.
I'll start with the small little cons first. This first one is petty. The item in the picture appears to be almost darkish green with a brownish mesh undershirt. The whole item is black. Now all my ridding gear is black anyway so I actually preferred this option better, so in a way this was a pro for me! But may not be for someone else.Second, I bought the medium size (5'10, 150 lbs). All of the padding is fitted exactly where it should be (shoulders, elbow/forearm) but the mesh in the arm pits seems to dig into that area. It's nothing painful but it is noticeable (not so much in my riding posture thought). I'm hoping it'll stretch though with time but no reason to disregard.Third, I don't know what I was expecting for $75 as far as the armor goes. For some reason I was thinking the armor would be textile. It's just hard plastic like you would buy for skateboarding knee pads/elbow pads. That being said, I was not extremely disappointed just merely "ahh ok not what I was expecting" but again for $75 what can you really expect? Now for the pros.I freaking love this thing. It looks sooo cool when I put it on. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about safety vs appearance but this thing looks BA. Even though above I talked about the hard plastic being something I was slightly disappointed about I still feel that it will hold up if and ever I would need it too. Also, not pictured, are shoulder/clavicle straps that attach mid scapula and wrap around front and connect at the top of the breast plating (I think you can kind of see the bolts on the picture). This is removable as well, nice feature.Extremely light weight. It doesn't even really feel like you have it on. I originally was going to cut the mesh sleeves off so my arms would be bare, but after riding with it I've changed my mind. It breathes extremely well.Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. I cannot wait for more sunny weather here in Seattle to really start getting some use out of it. Would recommend to friends :)Apparently I have to fit 20 more words into this review for me to submit it....so ignore this section lol

I'm not sure
Where do I start. I'm 5,10 170-180pnds.. I got the Xl size. . First, the Armor fits good, its strong or strong enough where I believe it will take the impact just fine. . It might crack, but its better you have this on. If you've ever played ice hockey, it resembles a chest protector and elbow pads stuck together on some thin shirt. .elbow pad area comes adjustable to be able to tighten. .product shipped very quick. Got it the day after I ordered. Order Monday got it Wednesday. ..Flaws. . You want to pull off this piece by the strong sections, you don't want to continue tugging and pulling the weak areas, I could see a good tear in the near futureif I get lazy...Where you zip it up in the front is semi weak, another area to take it slow and zip it up...One review said it was hard to turn your head left to right, which it is.. you almost handicap yourself. . At a red light turning right trying to turn your head slighlty enough left to see traffic is nearly impossible uunless you shift your entire body. .I ended up cutting the stitching that held the shoulder pad, removed it and it gave me back the ability to move my head around. .. it didn't ruin the jacket, and looks pretty good still....This might be worth the money, but I do own a leather jacket as well, and soon I might get rid of the front Armor and just keep the back Armor and elbow pads.. Might even try putting the back Armor in my leather, it has a spot for it. Will it fit is questionable. . So you might want to look at just back Armor and some elbow pads to wear under your jacket. . I see elbows being the first thing hitting the ground, but anything is possible. .Id give it 3 and a half stars

If you like the feeling of hard plastic on your body...
So the main reason why I purchased this was so that I would be able to wear this under a hoodie jacket during the hot summer months in Southern California. It could work, but it'd still be pretty bulky under it all + the thought of taking off the hoodie and walking around with this armor on I imagine would be pretty awkward. At first glance, it looked pretty awesome, but upon closer inspection, the mesh lining that holds the armor together is literally a joke. It's so thin. Even the velcro that puts this armor wall together is enough to destroy it. To put the jacket on, you have to attach the shoulder pads that screw in. They aren't very adjustable unless you feel like drilling extra holes in your armor. After getting suited up, you have to adjust the tension in between the arm and elbow pads to get a snug enough fit. These adjustment connectors were not snug enough for me. After zipping up, I noticed the chest armor was spreading outwards in a comical fashion on my body. I imagined the kidney straps were meant to hold and shape the armor to go around my body which it did precisely.Stepping back, after getting the armor adjusted, I still couldn't imagine how comfortable this would be to wear instead of a mesh armored jacket. The hard plastic was uncomfortable to the touch almost everywhere on my arms. Imagine hard plastic one-size-fits-all plastic hugging your shoulders and arms. Range of motion was normal but the armor kept bumping into each other around the neck and shoulder area which got plenty annoying. The mesh all over this jacket will literally rip at the sign of velcro, which by the way, is also the closest thing on your stomach so the threading will begin to start pulling around your sleeve area if you want a snug fit.The best thing about this jacket though is the price and how snug I felt with the back protector and chest armor once the kidney strap is velcro'd tight. Everything else besides that was just uncomfortable, lining sensitive worrying, and plastic rubbing bad.My advice: If you're purchasing this to use on hot summer days, save up for a mesh jacket. It'll be much easier to take off and offer just as much protection. It's hot out, you're gonna sweat regardless. Might as well be comfortable and just purchase a mesh jacket with armor.Or don't! I can see how this can work on the otherhand. The protection it offered it pretty good for the price. I felt safe in it and can guarantee that I'd rather be wearing this than nothing at all.
