The actual cable seem to be decent, and for the price I paid, it is a good length. Not too keen on the auto-locking clamp mechanism as it just does not feel like the clamping is that secure with it. Maybe because I'm too scared of cranking on them and breaking the plastic parts?I tend to lock the mechanism up before attaching to a post which requires me to fiddle with them to unlock it again (since I'm used to the old spring type where you have to squeeze then release onto a post - these are opposite: you squeeze them once on a post). I find the old school spring kind clamps to be more secure and quicker to use. But I'm sure I'll get better with these as time goes on. The carrying bag is pretty thin and ours already ripped.

Not sure I like these better than a good set of spring loaded cables but they worked fine the 1 time I needed since purchase so I'm ok. Wanted cables at least 4 gauge but did not want them any longer than 20 feet. These fit the bill and qualifed for super saver shipping so I'm good with the whole transaction.

These jumper cables have an odd feature. They ratchet closed. I thought at first this would be great but quickly discovered that it takes a lot of force to get them to ratchet closed enough to stay on the terminals. Also the jaw shape is really not optimal for all terminal types. I'm not sure why they put glow in the dark "+" and "-" terminals. The cable itself is high gauge and works well for jumping Diesels and Trucks. Overall they work well but their not any better then a normal set of spring clamps.

Somebody stole the last set of cables I had when the when left the van unlocked. I paid some $65 for them years ago on sale and they were the same sized conductors.These cables are very flexible unlike some and have strong jaws on them so they will not come loose on you while connected.The storage bag that came with them was not much but that was not what I paid for. I just put them in a plastic box.I ordered two sets of these, one for each car and I am very pleased.

These cables were recommended as they were made with 100% copper wire (perhaps this was true preciously). I emailed the company and got confirmation before purchasing. After receiving the cables, I immediately initiated a return after taking pictures of the conductors. I then emailed the company with the pictures - to which I got a reply telling that they gave me incorrect information and the wire runs consists of 70% copper and 30% aluminum. Looking at the pictures and examining the cables ends themselves, I wouldn't believe them if they told me it was 30% copper and 70% aluminum. Every single wire strand looks to be copper plated aluminum, not a single solid copper wire can be seen (I took pictures with my 1:1 macro lens). I know that there is no mention of the material of the wires themselves in the description, but I've purchased based on the reply I got from the company. I might have kept it if it was indeed 70% copper, but there is no way that is true. So if you are expecting a 100% copper cable set, this is not it. The cables also have different packaging, and now doesn't include the storage bag and wire brush as the Amazon description mentions. I am very disappointed at the reponse from the company, as if they are trying mislead those who doesn't know better. If they stand by their now 70% copper statement, then it should be a piece of cake for them to outline and identify the copper wires from the pictures I've sent them, that is, if copper is silver in color. I would have been eager to write a great review if the product was indeed what they claimed. I'm sure the cables will work, but so would other cheaper same gauge copper plated aluminum cables.

I really like these cables. They're long enough to reach the front of most vehicles even if you can only pull up behind them. My daughter parks in a dorm parking lot and these cables made it easy to jump start her car. They also stay flexible in extreme cold.

Bought these for a gift. They have been great and easy to use. He likes the locking clamp style and extra long cables also. I do agree with other reviews that you have to have strength to use the locking clamps.
