We went to 6 bicycle shops looking for a helmet for my 9 month old. Most helmets say 3+, this one says 1+, but I would say it would have fit her at 6 months. I don't have the packaging anymore so I don't know exact measurements, but she has a small head (50 percentile). If you want to try one on they sell them at target, but they only had pink near us and we didn't want the pink. She is 12 months now and still has lots of room to grow. It adjusts by a little knob in the back so it it super easy and has a lot of different positions. Bell is the only other company that sells a 1+ helmet rather than 3+ that we could find but that one wasn't nearly as adjustable and it was more expensive. **Q: What is the age range for this helmet?** A: It's better to go by circumference as opposed to age ranges when buying a helmet. This helmet states that it will fit ages 3+, however, my son just turned 2, and it was way to small for his head. I measured the helmet, and it will fit, at most, a toddler with a 20" head circumference. **Q: is it for 5 year old** A: Our daughter is 4.5 years old and it fits great now... It was a little big when she was 3. Our daughter weighs about 40 lbs and is average height. **Q: What circumference head does this fit?** A: The packaging doesn't state a circumference for the helmet.
