Fun Debut
The Rise of Olympus (The Guardians of Olympus, 1) by Robert Kauffman is a strong debut novel that combines an intriguing mix elements that all work well when meshed together. We begin with a young Davis Finch about to embark on a trip to Paris with his parents. His parents are giddy about the trip, but sadly, a plane crash takes their lives, and Davis is the sole survivor. Davis begins a new life with his grandparents in Arizona, and this is where the story really takes off. The author Kauffman does a wonderful job of combining elements within the story, especially with the addition of Greek gods to the mix and tenuous times for Davis. With no idea of his godly heritage, Davis is in for a wild ride. Strongly recommend this story for great escapist reading, and looking forward to what will be a promising sequel in a good series.

A must read for anyone who loves Greek mythology!
I loved the love triangle it kept me in suspense most of the time. I've always been a fan of the Anunnaki and Greek gods. This was a fresh take of Greek mythology through the eyes of a 15 year old demigod with no idea of his godly heritage. There was never a dull moment the author did an awesome job keeping the story fast paced without sacrificing any development. I can't wait for the next one!!

Great storyline. Subpar grammar.
This book is very enjoyable. The only problem is the syntax; It was atrocious. If you can ignore a few (much more than a few) grammatical errors, this book is well worth it. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Amazing Read!
The Rise of Olympus (The Guardians of Olympus Book 1) written by Robert Kauffman is a wonderfully thought out story about fate, Greek Gods, Prophecy, heroism, lineage and the search to find purpose. Davis Finch is turned orphan in a horrific plane crash while en-route for vacation in Paris, as the only survivor, he wants to know ‘why him?’ Davis moves to Arizona to live with his grandparents and soon finds himself involved with the prophecy of one person fated to save mankind, with the planet Nibiru’s imminent orbit of Earth, Davis needs to find himself, but will this help answer his question? The story’s plot is really great and well thought out, I love how believable the characters were and how the author was able to keep the reader’s interest throughout the story. The pace was good and the descriptions were well done. The story was a great novel and I really enjoyed the story and characters. If you can appreciate and get into the Greek Mythology in the book you will be into one wild ride, so if you enjoy fantasy novels full of action, heroes, and some romantic scenes, you’ll love this read.

Had potential
Great storyline, it's just a pity the grammar made the story sound like it was written by a 14yo.Why bother going to all the trouble of having a Goddess speak in old English and then have a God speaking like he's bogan? Inconsistent characterisations

Overall underwhelming but enjoyable
Interesting characters, fascinating premise, and a plausible set of character interactions are let down by predictability of the narrative, a string of grammatical and lexical errors, and a knack for writing nigh illegible old English text. Overall however a solid book for the money you spend.

Choppy. Couldn't finish it.
Needs a better editor and a little more time to smooth out the edges. Story is choppy and jumps around a lot.

How is this a "bestseller"?
If you're going to write a story from a 15-year-old's point of view then you need to sound like one. Extremely tiring internal dialogue and I didn't even want to finish it.
