Nice design but the length of the plug lead is a let down
XIAXIA 2022 Upgraded Electronic Rat Trap šŖ¤ is very inviting to rodents šššin comparison to the other ones that Iāve used, the reason being is that the entrance is fully open so the rodents so they are likely to trust going into it if they havenāt seen the outcome before e.g seeing the aftermath of a family member not returning after entering not coming out . The only let down off this very let down I would say is the length of the lead on the plug itās far too short so it is best using batteries but this could be bit costly.

Working as it should. Yet to trap anything.
The trap comes in a sturdy, white cardboard box. In the box, the trap comes with a power adapter. This allows the trap to be powered and run through mains electricity. If you wish to use the trap in an outdoor space such as a shed, where there is no power, you will need to run it from four x C batteries. The instructions and listing is very clear that this should not be used in an outdoor environment where the trap is exposed to moisture. In order to use it, you can bait the trap by placing rodent friendly food through the holes at the back end of the trap. Once baited, you can turn the trap on using the switch at the top. The trap will hum briefly and a green light will flash once, to let you know that it is active. Once hr trap is live, do NOT place your hand inside on the metal plates. If a rat triggers the trap, a red light flashes for two seconds and then the green light flashes once every five seconds. The instructions state that, once triggered, no more voltage will be produced until the trap has been turned off and on again. None the less, it is important that you turn the trap off before attempting to remove anything from the trap. If the red light flashes three times every second, then this is indicating that the batteries need changing. From my perspective, whilst we havenāt trapped anything yet, the unit seems to be functioning as it should. We have noticed that holes have started to appear in our chicken run, so this is being used in an attempt to remedy the problem before it gets any worse. If you found this review useful, informative and / or enjoyable to read, please give that āhelpfulā button a click.

Hope it is effective
The trap comes with full instructions and all the appropriate warnings.I donāt know if I have any rodents in my workshop/garage right now. I have some expensive specialist chain oil for my bike ā it is very aromatic and the mice chewed through the plastic as they seemed to think it might be palatable! I put out conventional traps, got 4 of the little !%@?$. Since then no sign.I will use this as an additional means of control. I will amend this review to reflect what, if anything it kills. In the meantime my only criticism is the length of the cable ā you need at least 2 metres to have freedom of where you position it. I know it also takes batteries, but they are not supplied and I donāt want the expense of buying a size I seldom use. It loses a star for this.

It works (so far in mice)
I selected this product as my son uses these in his workplace and says they are very effective! I used to use rat trap boxes with poison, but since seeing a rat slowly dying on our drive Iāve stopped using it, as it seems awful having a slow long death, much better and kinder to have a quick short one in my view.I like this particular unit as you can use it with batteries or use the supplied power cable. I have a waterproof outdoor plug extension which keeps the power entirely safe in the rain, so Iāve used that instead of the batteries, though Iām also considering buying some rechargeable D batteries (it needs four), though havenāt done so as yet as theyāre a bit of an initial outlay but that will pay back over years. At the moment I donāt need complete freedom from the cable, so using the power cable is fine, but if you want complete flexibility then batteries are a must. The device is straight-forward to set-up and use, with good guidance notes. One thing to note is not to put it where your pet animals can reach, as they may get an electric shock, so you do need to be careful there. Weāve so far caught a mouse, so it does work! What I particularly like with this type of electronic device is that you donāt need to bait with poison, so no handling of noxious substances, that can also harm other animals if in contact, just use something like peanut butter (or Google for more ideas!).So for Ā£28.99 I think itās worth the investment, much cheaper than getting the professionals in, so five stars recommended from me.

Ineffective
This rat trap simply doesn't work. In over a month it hasn't killed a single rate, despite us seeing them scurrying around outside. Perhaps this is down to the rats not being interested in the bait. This trap can be used connected to mains power, or by battery (not included). If you're connecting to the mains then you can only use it indoors, which limits its use. Overall, not very impressed.

Electric Mouse Trap
This arrived in perfect timing for the big outhouse clearing of the nice and rats. Living on a farm were never going to fully get rid but we like to atleast allow the chickens to live a little more comfortable by surrounding them as much as possible with traps as mice seem to properly annoy them. This is a great trap, you get it down and itās made when nothing will happen on the outside (so safe for the chickens) and itās only when the mice get lured inside theyāre met with a nice electric shock. Very quick and effective and the battery lasts a good few days too! Unfortunately we have to clear it out everyday as it likes to catch loads, so each time we do that we give it an hours charge. Really easy to setup and use, nice size which will collect multiple vermin and overall canāt complain! Arrived with clear instructions for setup.
