Good book
Good book and conclusion to the series. As the commander of Company F, we've seen Josh in the previous books, as he supports his Rangers' sometimes unorthodox methods of getting things done. He has also been seeing them fall to Cupid's arrows, one by one, making him realize what has been missing in his life. It's been four years since his wife's death from cancer, and he's finally ready to move on.Tracey was hired when the twins were babies, to help with them and with Gwen. She quickly became a friend as well as caretaker to the kids (don't call her a nanny - she HATES that!). After Gwen's death, she remained to help Josh with the kids. Now that she has finished her doctorate, she knows it is time to move on with her life. She's in love with Josh, but doesn't believe he feels anything but friendship. Though the thought of leaving hurts, she has to do it.The excitement begins when an accident is staged as a setup to kidnap Josh's kids. The bad guys want something from Josh and only by holding his kids hostage can they ensure that he will cooperate. There is an added complication, in that Josh's son is diabetic, and needs to be monitored at all times. It's a harrowing situation and Josh is determined to do whatever necessary, even if it means going against the FBI and his fellow Rangers.I liked how Tracey kept a calm head and was determined to be there for Josh. It was interesting to see the kidnappers include her in their demands, and how she and Josh dealt with it. The reason was clear early on, and I liked that she didn't hesitate for a second in agreeing to their demands. Tracey is very observant and clever, and tries to find a way to get herself and the kids away.As the book goes on, the danger increases as the bad guys force Josh and Tracey to play their parts. There is some chaos as the bad guys' plans don't always go the way they want, and Josh tries to capitalize on it. The final confrontation was intense, as time was ticking for Jackson's condition, and Tracey came under additional danger. I loved how it all came together in the end. There wasn't a whole lot of chances for romance, as Josh and Tracey were apart for most of the book. However, we do discover that each has feelings for the other, though they hadn't shared them. As they had known each other for four years, there has been plenty of time to develop the trust, loyalty and respect, as well as love, that they have for each other. There are a few steamy kisses that give them the hope that their feelings are returned, but no time for anything more. I loved Josh's big moment at the end, and the help he had for it.The only disappointment I had was at the very beginning. Josh had thrown a birthday party for Tracey, inviting his coworkers and their ladies. I got the impression that they had treated her more as the help than as an important part of Josh's household, which made me sad.

Loved this suspense with subtle romance
Josh got married, became a father and widower in a very short time. Having cancer, his wife, Gwen, hired Tracy to help with the twin's care. Even though her friend's death was hard on her, Tracy stayed to help Josh with the children. She had been with them for 4 years, becoming very close to the children and Josh and even though she didn't want to leave, she had finished her doctorate and knew it was time to move on.One day, Tracy was driving with the children when she stopped because the road was blocked by an accident. But it wasn't really an accident. It was a setup to kidnap Josh's kids. Someone wanted Josh to do something and holding his children would make sure he cooperated. Not only were the 4-year-olds terrified but one was diabetic, needing insulin and food regularly, adding a complication to the situation. The children meant everything to Josh. He'd do whatever it took to get them back safely. Even go against the FBI.Tracey was a great woman. She would do absolutely anything for the kids. She was a rock for Josh and kept him focused. He was lucky to have her because all he could think about was how to get his kids back. The tension was high in this book with the danger increasing when things didn't always go the way the bad guys wanted them to. The twist near the end was quite a surprise and left me thinking "holy smokes". There was also the secret Tracy kept.Fans of clean read suspense, defined without explicit sexual content and bad language, will enjoy the romantic chemistry, the suspense and the conclusion.

A great culmination to an entertaining series
This installment of the Elite Troop series is a fabulous culmination to the series. Its wonderfully written romantic suspense, full of drama, action, suspense, and love. This story focuses on the slow burn romance of Tracy and John as they deal with the kidnapping of John's four year old twins. Tracey is the twins nanny and they were kidnapped on her watch. Bother heroes are willing to do anything to ensure they get the twins back safely. This book has twists and turns that keep you thoroughly engaged with the story line. The characters are interesting, like-able and believable.Although a romantic suspense this book does lack the heat that I've come to expect from a harlequin romance, but the story is completely engaging and entertaining and kept my attention from start to finish.I thoroughly enjoyed this whole series and the only thing I would have liked was for the previous characters to have all made an appearance in this book. I really liked that Bryce was included within the story line. I loved how this series came to a halt and wasn't expecting the outcome.I look forward to reading more from Angi Morgan in the future.

My fav in the series!
My favorite one yet in the Texas Rangers: Elite Troop series by Angi Morgan! It was filled with danger and mystery, yet had a ton of sweetness of all of these strong people trying to protect these little kids … and a little romance thrown in to boot! Really enjoyed it.Texas Ranger Josh Parker only has his kids left in life, so when a group of criminals want to hit him where it hurts, kidnapping his twins has definitely done it! Josh races against danger to try to get his kids back. With the help of their caretaker Tracey Cassidy, he is prepared to do whatever it takes … even if it means breaking the laws that he’s sworn to uphold! Will they win the race against the clock? And along the way, will he and Tracey have to admit how they feel about each other?
