Sinners Anonymous: A Forbidden Love Dark Mafia Romance Paperback – December 24, 2021

I went into this book completely blind and knew from the first chapter that this would be a new favorite. I have the physical books but chose to start with the audiobooks and am so happy I did. It is DUET STYLE and got me invested in the story/characters right away.Mafia Romance is my happy place, and while this is more what I would consider 'Mafia Lite' (Angelo was 'reformed at the begining of the book but I'm certain it will get more into the 'Familia' in the following books) it has all the elements I love. Enemies to Lovers, Age Gap, Touch Her and Die.It is also the perfect 'slow burn' with plenty of longing, angst and forbidden attraction leading up to the spice.

Good writing and banter, not much actual sex for majority but enough smut to keep me interested. Will read more

🔥Mafia🔥Age gap🔥Forbidden love🔥Forced ProximityI almost did not read this book because the reviews are so mixed. Boy oh boy, I am SO glad that I did. I ate this book up! I found the plot exciting, the chemistry between the characters was off the charts, and it has the slowest, most delicious burn ever. I will definitely be continuing the series.I am in my mafia romance era and I cannot be stopped!!

Then… Think of a balloon being filled with so exciting, seeing as if gets bigger, wondering how big it’ll get & how much more air it can take, then…you lose the grip and it just deflates in your face. Not a pop that startles and disappoints but a a let down just the same because of all the work lost.It was incredible good. As silly and too young Rory is, she is cute and fun. I don’t like how much they harp on her age but still, character development was rich. The steam off the charts which is why the culmination to all that was disappointing.It was a great start tho. We’ll see if the next can make up for what this once lost at the end

Story: 5/5Spice: 3/5This was a book I had borrowed through Kindle Unlimited a while ago and had waited to read for a bit. I wish I had picked it up sooner because it was so good. I had seen it floating around on other social media platforms, and it totally lives up to the hype. It's an age gap, a little bit of enemies (frenemies?) to lovers, burn the world vibe.I read a lot of Mafia romances, so the concept behind Sinners Anonymous was actually unique to the storyline, and I liked that in the plot. As I mentioned, it was a slow burn, but there was a lot of tension between the FMC and the MMC, so it really kept me engaged as a reader. I didn't think that the story read slow, though, as I was able to read the book in 1 day and didn't want to put it down. I'm really anxious to see how the story builds out for the other 2 brothers.Totally recommend this book!

I love that Angelo was a brooding, unhinged mafia man who’ll do anything for Rory. The contrast between his ruthless mafia persona and the small, almost tender gestures of affection did it for me! Beyond all the violence and power plays, he just wanted to keep her safe in the middle of all the chaos! The tension in this book was tension-ing and had me screaming and giggling! An the slow burn was actually slow burning and played out very well! I did want a little bit more from Rory, though. I wanted to see her become unhinged and spread her wings more, you know? Idk I just wanted more from her. Overall, it was such a great read! Highly recommend.
