I purchased this not knowing anything about smart hula hoops. While I was waiting for it to be delivered, I did some research and was concerned it might be too difficult for me to use. My first quick try, I shortened the length of the weight so that it was as short as I could make it. I was not successful at this length. The next day I lengthened the weight so that it was as far away from my body as possible. At that length I was able to keep the weight going without any problem and it was actually fun. To use the hula hoop, it is best to stand with one foot slightly in front of the other or with your feet side by side. Try both to see what works for you. I am 64 and am able to use the smart hula hoop for 30 minutes at a time with no problem.It is easy to add or take away pieces to make the belt the size that you need to fit your waist. The part that is against my body is smooth and very comfortable. There is also a counter to track your progress. It is small enough that it would be easy to pack for a vacation or business trip.I am very happy with this purchase.
