Excellent toy when it doesn't arrive broken.
Edit to review: Second unit wasn't broken. It was user error. Testing the second unit without attaching the barrel made it not work. I discovered the mechanism that needed to be depressed by the barrel attachment only after receiving the 3rd unit a day late for my son's birthday. Oops.Bought for my son's birthday a few weeks ago. On a whim decided to put it together to wrap without a box. Tried it after I put the two pieces together since I didn't read the reviews first. The breech wouldn't pop up like the instructions said. But I loaded it and shot a few rounds and it seemed to shoot pretty well. Then I finally noticed the little spring mechanism was loose cuz the piece you insert the dart into was broken at the base. Ok. Must return for a new one, luckily it's still a few days until my son's birthday. Rigged the box for returning since the gun is now nearly 5ft long. Got replacement today. Excited to try. Didn't put the long barrels on this time cuz I learned my lesson. Excited the breech popped right open like it was supposed to. Wouldn't fire. Pulled the trigger multiple times before the dart flew out (pretty true, however). Tried again and again and again. Fired when I tapped the side of the buttstock. I kept hoping the trigger which felt like it was attached to a rubber band that's pulled too tightly would maybe loosen up and fix itself. No dice. I wanted it to work so badly, but finally gave up. Son's birthday is on Monday, and that's when 2nd replacement is supposed to arrive. 3rd try's a charm hopefully. I'll update this review with whether I get a working unit.

This is great.
I grabbed this for a costume accessory than using with darts. Looks great and works well.

It WILL break, don't buy if you want a functioning nerf blaster
Bought as a present for my 10 year old. First one fired one dart about 10 feet and wouldn't fire again. So, thinking it was a lemon, we returned it and got a replacement two days later. The second worked for about 10 minutes before it too would no longer fire. There is something clearly wrong with the design because other reviews are mentioning the same problem. It's really too bad because this nerf blaster is fantastic for any stars wars fan... kid favorite for sure if only it worked.

Good prop for Mando costume. Poor functionality
Right out of the box you can use it as a Mando costume prop. Check. That is, as long as you want to hold it in your hands the whole time. If you want a shoulder sling, you’re gonna have to make some modifications, and provide your own sling. (See pics and text at the end of the review for what I did.)On the functionality side, pretty bad honestly. One loop for strap is provided on the butt end, but it comes out pretty easy and no loop on the front of the blaster. Not sure what they were thinking with this. The barrel of the blaster is huge compared to the darts. Could be described as “throwing a hot dog down a hallway.” Accuracy is terrible. The scope is a joke, you can’t even see through it, blurred plastic. Could have easily made it at least see through. Some cheap plastic lenses to give some magnification wouldn’t have been that hard, but it’s not like you’re going to hit that spot anyway I guess. The single load, single shot system is true to Mando’s blaster, but makes this blaster next to useless in any competitive blaster shoot out.To add a sling, I used one from a duffel bag. I never use the sling on duffel bags anyway. To add a loop to the front of the blaster, I removed a screw from the top front of the blaster and drilled out the hole. Then modified a D-ring I got from home hardware store. I used a cut off wheel but it could be done with a good set of wire cutters. Bent the ends of the D-ring into the hole with a clamp. Vice or even pliers would have worked too. Could probably have used a key ring instead of D-ring, but I’m anal retentive and I do everything the hard way.On the butt end, no drilling required. 1/8” eye screw with wood threads, also from home hardware store. Screw into the existing hole to tap it (to cut the threads in the plastic.) But then need to remove and cut off about half the threaded part of the eye screw, as it interferes with the firing mechanism inside due to its length. This can be tricky without a cutoff wheel and a file, as the end of the thread you just cut off needs to find and not damage the threads you just tapped into the plastic. Don’t over tighten the eye screw as the plastic can easily be stripped by the steel eye screw.Add the strap and then voila, shoulder strap for my Mando blaster. Took about an hour plus the run to home hardware store.
