I have seen wonderful review on this on Youtube and ordered it through Amazon who stated they had 12 left in stock when I ordered it on Fed 20th, the next day got a letter from Thrunite saying "sorry but we are out of quantities for the United States - do you still want this, it won't ship until the 27th." I said yes, and got notified by Amazon that it was shipped on 24th - I believe) And today it is the 3rd of March and still has not come.MEANWHILE, Amazon says it can get one to me tomorrow IF I want to pay for next day shipping - you would think BACK ORDERS would have been taken care of first, it is now going into week 3 waiting.I bought a really nice smart charger and 2 18650 rechargeable, cost about $75 and I have no flashlight to use them in.SHAME ON THRUNITE and SHAME ON AMAZON - I have NEVER givien a ONE STAR review, and would have given a zero if there was an option. You should never still be waiting on something you ordered weeks ago when that same item can be delivered over night - never. Mind you, since they allegedly shipped it, I can not cancel the order - so I'm held hostage awaiting delivery. Ifeel like returning it on principle alone. AGAIN, shame on BOTH PARTIES - if you can get countless units out in one day, there is NO REASON I should be going into week THREE now! I want my freakin' flashlight.I would love (LOVE) to give it a 5 start review, I hope I can stiffle my dispise right now for the way this is handled and give a fair review. But either way, the content of this post will remain in my final review. I hope it is worth the wait, I believe it is and it will be my EDC light - I'm using a Streamlight TLR-1 HL (gun light) as a carry light for working at night - 630 lumens, but no various lumen outputs, so it's either blinding bright or nothing, that is why I want the TN12 2014, the various brightnesses will be great for so many different uses. You don't need 1050 lumens to read a map at night, when 200 is more than enough.Amazon, get your crap together - YOU STATED there were 12 LEFT when I ORDERED THIS LIGHT. That was a lie according to Thrunite - so either you or them is lying to me, either case NEITHER seems to care if/when I get the light I paid for - Amazon, you let me down for the first time, I would love to read an apology if for no other reason to know REAL PEOPLE read through reviews and not just some word filter software.PART TWO - the flashlight comes:Note the following was sent to a person who replied to this review - rather than rewriting it, I added it here as well, it directly concerns the product.My light came yesterday afternoon just before I went to work on 4 to 12. That's an ideal time for me to test out all the different light modes and see exactly how bright the light matches up to my TLR 1HL gun light. I took the two lights match them up in a distant object and both worked incredibly well.The big thing I noticed about that thrunite is that it has a much greater wash area then my TLR light does, I guess mainly because the TRL is for indoor home defense and you need to concentrate the light a bit more on the subject then you would in an outdoor situation. The Thrunite worked very well in just the flood section, but also work very well in the wash area the areas that are lit up on either side of the main beam very uniformly. So everything that I'm aiming the light at has equal brightness and then you have that bright center flood to actually concentrate the huge amount of light that you need for an object a few hundred yards away. So to clarify I do like the flood and the wash area you get an incredible amount of panoramic lights but you do get a good intensity in the flood section at the center.The only thing I find awkward, and it is me it's not the flashlight, is when you cycle through the lights when you get done with the highest lumens you go back to the firefly mode and my brain assumes the flashlight is returned to an off position (as much as many lights would) not the firefly mode which is actually quite hard to see after looking into 1050 lm LOL.It takes a little getting used to cycling through the five brightness and realizing that the only thing that can kill the power is the button at the end of the light. Once I get used to that the flashlight will be incredible because the firefly mode as dull as it is does an incredibly good job in a total dark area once your eyes adjust.So I do like the flashlight a lot. It's brightness settings are fun to scroll through and use the different strobe feature as you cycle through the lights, the overall size fits well in hand although the button to change the luminosity is a little awkward in an awkward position I had to move the pocket clip around and use that as a guide to point toward the button to push to increase brightness.The issue with shipping and non-shipping and telling stories to Amazon and all that ended with the light coming seven days quicker then the return letter I got from the manufacturer after Amazon wrote them. Thrunite told me I would see it probably between the 12th and the 15 and again it came yesterday. So I understand one flashlight out of 1 million being distributed around the world can get lost easily in the shuffle of things, I'm usually luckier then the poor sap who sits there and never gets a reply and never gets a product that he paid for. I just wasn't that happy with the way that Amazon conducted the listing of the product and The manufacturer didn't do much better of a job either. At least Amazon did not lie to me, in fact they were lied to as well as I was by the manufacturer. I think if it weren't for Amazon writing them a letter to notify them a customer complained. I likely would not of got the light by now.So to conclude then, I do like the light I'm glad it's in my hand and I will be using it along with the somewhat expensive batteries and charger that I bought to use the light with I'm running the light right now to see how much I can kill this battery before work this afternoon and use a fresh one and put this one in the charger. I'm going to change the rating from a 1 star to a 4 star review, only for some minor issues that are more ergonomic then anything else I think that's coming through the light brightness is that there should be and off position on the cycle button as well, not from firefly too low to medium to high too bright to super bright back to firefly. You shouldn't have to change your grip to shut it off. The only other issue is the ergonomic position of the button it should be more pronounced - it feels quite flush against the aluminum housing. But all in all great Flashlight especially in that price range. thanks for your letter been.One final point. Since I call this a tactical light as much as a fine every day carry, the strobe feature should accessed from everywhere. If I am threatened and need to quickly disorient my attacker, I should NOT have to turn the light on and then choose a brightness and then hold down the button to start strobe. I noticed in the two lowest light settings, the light jumps to the medium brightness and starts strobing, so the lowest strobe is the medium setting. I believe that IF you need to activate the strobe NOW, you should be able to just hold down the (light cycling button) and it goes to full brightness and strobe. Having to power it up at the power button, cycle through brightnesses and the hit strobe it a lot to do in a panic situation.This review got long. I had my issues getting it and they are over, I doubt you will have the same issues. But things like it is NOT easy to find the brightness button, the lanyard rings surrounding the power button on bottom makes it a bit tougher to power it up without the light being turned a certain way, the lack of an OFF position in the brightness cycling button, it not having a RIGHT-TO hi lumen strobe feature are all valid points - but it WOULD NOT stop me from getting this light again. The WASH and the THROW are impressive. Don't expect to see a huge difference from 800 to 1050 lumens, but as minute as it is, every lumen counts.With some engineering brainstorming, this would be the PERFECT LIGHT, but as is: is a near perfect light in a great price range. I have been carrying a Streamlight Stylus Pro for awhile and love it, but needed something stronger for work during the day. I did weeks of research watching YouTube videos and reading reviews on forums and narrowed it down to this one, the Fenix PD35, and the Nitecore P12. Those 3 lights are very similar and all would fulfill my needs, but in the end I went with the TN12. One reason is the separation in lumens between the different power modes. This one has 5 power levels. The firefly mode is .3 lumens and is very useful. It works well for getting up to get water/ doing whatever in the middle of the night to both preserve your night vision and to not wake up anyone else in the room. Also works well for reading a menu in a dark resteraunt or anything like that. Low mode is 20 lumens and is great for general stuff at night when you are illuminating something right infront of you and don't wanna blind yourself. The next level up is 280 lumens and will give you a little more throw distance for searching around an area at night. This mode is already plenty of light for almost anything you need, and when put on in a dark room it will illuminate very well. High mode is 800 lumens, and reall throws a beam as it is an extreme amount of light. Do Not shine it at someone's face as it will temporarily blind them, which makes a great non lethal self defense tool. This is as high as I usually go as it is more than enough light for any task. The beam throws very far with a solid hotspot and just enough spill for a good search light. Turbo mode is 1050 lumens and is not very discernible from high mode, and it eats more battery so I hardly use it. The only difference I see is long distance illumination at night you get a little bit of a stronger hot spot. Other than that it's not a big enough jump in lumens to warrant using, to the point of almost being redundant. I only say almost because it does give you a little extra throw. Aside from a solid beam the TN12 also has a strobe function, which is al 1050 lumens of blinding fury. YOU DONT WANT THIS POINTING AT YOUR FACE. It's very disorienting and would work well in a defensive situation. The body of the light is well built and solid, not hollow feeling like some other lights I've used. It is water proof, shock proof to any standing height (if you are standing up and drop it on the floor), and compact enough to carry in a front jeans pocket. It comes with a sturdy clip which I use everyday and am happy with. Also include is a strong lanyard and strong nylon belt holder. The light is comfortable in the hand and textured enough for a sturdy grip even with sweaty hands. It takes either one 18650 or two cr123 batteries, giving the same output (to my eyes) with both. I went through a pair of cr123's in only 3 weeks of moderate use so I suggest rechargeable batteries. Overall a well built powerhouse light in a pocketable package that should last you a very long time.

I bought one a few days ago and now I have tried it out and found it to be Very good value for money so good I'm going to order another one right now.

Das Fazit vorab: mit dem Kauf dieser Lampe kann man nichts falsch machen.Trotzdem gibt es nur vier Punkte, denn das erste gelieferte Exemplar hatte ein Problem mit einem unzuverlässigen Ein-/Ausschalter. Eine Lampe in dieser Preisklasse sollte aber technisch einwandfrei funktionieren, daher zurück und neu bestellt.Den deshalb abgezogenen Punkt müsste man Amazon gutschreiben: das Rücksendeverfahren halte ich für vorbildlich und die Erstattung des Kaufpreises erfolgte noch vor der Bestätigungs-Mail für den Erhalt der Rücksendung.Das zweite Exemplar funktioniert einwandfrei und wurde im Gegensatz zur ersten Lieferung in einer Plastikhülle geliefert. Irgendwie werde ich den Verdacht nicht los, mit dem ersten Exemplar einen Rückläufer erhalten zu haben.Die Lichtfarben-Einstufung des Herstellers ist grenzwertig. Das "Neutral White" hat eine relativ warme Lichtfarbe und tendiert für mich eher zu einem "Warm White". Aufgrund der besseren Farbwiedergabe empfinde ich das aber als sehr positiv. Wer die eher warme Lichtfarbe nicht mag, sollte jedoch besser zur "Cool White"-Variante greifen.Die Lampe macht einen sehr soliden Eindruck ohne klobig zu wirken. Die Lichtverteilung ist ausgewogen, der feste Fokus daher zu verschmerzen. Die Lichtleistung steht sowie außerhalb jeder Kritik. Das Ding ist HELL!Die Wärmeentwicklung am Lampenkopf in den beiden höchsten Stufen ist tatsächlich beträchtlich, aber so lange die Funktion der Lampe dadurch nicht beeinträchtigt wird, ist das für mich kein Grund für eine Abwertung.Was mir besonders gefällt: ich betreibe die Lampe mit 2xCR123A Batterien. Diese sind im Durchmesser etwas kleiner als die 18650-Akkus, sitzen aber trotzdem ausreichend fest in der Lampe. Bei normalen Bewegungen wackelt und klappert auch mit den CR123A absolut nichts.Der Hochglanz-Reflektor macht einen wertigen Eindruck und muss sich vor einem Vergleich mit einer teureren Lampe nicht verstecken.Die Fenix-Lampen mögen optisch ein klein wenig eleganter im Design wirken. Beim Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis jedoch hat die ThruNite die Nase weit vorne.

Sehr helle und handliche Taschenlampe. Gute Verarbeitung. In Verbindung mit den 18650 Thrunite Akkus sehr lange Laufzeit. Die Ausleuchtung ist sehr gut.

Ich habe die Lampe in der Neutral White - Version vor kurzem gekauft und bin echt begeistert von dem Kraftpaket. Dagegen sind meine anderen Taschenlampen echt Spielzeug. Diese werden wohl ab jetzt nur noch als Notbehelf dienen.Was mir gefällt:+ die enorme Lichtleistung+ Ausleuchtung: sehr guter Spot-Bereich mit gutem Licht-Kegel - somit universelle Leuchte+ Handlichkeit: Passt gut in die Jackentasche+ Lichtfarbe: Sie erscheint mir gefälliger als das Bläuliche der LED-Lampen, die ich sonst so besitze.+ Lichtmodi: Gut gewählte Abstufungen. Bei den anderen Lampen habe ich nur eine Helligkeitsstufe. Bei dieser kann ich passend zum Anwendungszweck wählen.+ Zubehör: abnehmbarer Glip, Holster, Trageschlaufe, Ersatzdichtungen - alles dabei - Klasse!+ Robust: Sie ist wasserdicht und sehr stabil.+ Ausdauer: Im sehr praktikablen 280 lm - Mode hält sie mit einem 2200 mAh- Akku 4 Stunden+ Qualität: gute Anodisierung, ordentliche Gewinde (schon geölt), Druckpunkte der beiden Taster sind sehr gut.+ Preis: Wenn man schaut was vergleichbare Lampen der Mitbewerber so kosten - unschlagbar+ Akkuwarnung: Das doppelte Blinken, wenn Akku leer wird, empfinde ich als sehr hilfreich.Negative Punkte sind mir bisher noch nicht aufgefallen.Ich bin von der Lampe sehr angetan freue mich schon auf die nun länger werdenden Nächte, bei denen mich die Lampe auf meinen Spaziergängen mit dem Hund begleiten wird.[Nachtrag, 7. November 2014]Die Taschenlampe ist mir leider entwendet worden. Die neue Besitzerin ist meine Frau, weil sie für die dunkle Jahreszeit eine praktikable Lampe wollte. Da ich mir aber schon weitere Taschenlampen zugelegt habe, habe ich es durchgehen lassen. Ich darf sie mir ja ab und zu mal von ihr ausleihen.Tipp: Den Clip kann man in der anderen Richtung montieren, indem man das mittlere Teil des Batterierohres abschraubt und um 180° gedreht wieder einsetzt.

Über die Lampe selber muss man denke ich nichtmehr viel schreiben.Die ganzen 5 Sterne Bewertungen sagen denke ich alles.Die Lampe kam sauber verpackt und makellos bei mir an. Ich habe NW gewählt weil ich viel in der Naur unterwegs bin und die Farbwiedergabe von NW schöner finde als dieses blasse CW. LED war sauber zentriert. Lampe funktioniert einwandfrei und ist tadellos verarbeitet.Ich habe die Lampe als Allrounder fürs Haus, Camping und Geocaching gekauft. Ich denke dafür ist sie perfekt geeignet.Modiwechsel über Seitenschalter und Firefly sind Features die ich nicht missen möchte.Ich möchte hier, da über die Lampe denke ich schon alles gesagt ist, auf ein paar Punkte eingehen die meine Vorschreiber teils negativ gesehen haben.1. Sichtbarer Unterschied zwischen den beiden höchsten Leuchtstufen. Ein paar User monieren dass es wenig bis keinen sichtbaren Unterschied zwischen den beiden höchsten Leuchtstufen gäbe. Hierzu sei gesagt dass das einzig und alleine am Akku liegt. Die zweithöchste Stufe zieht 1,6A aus dem Akku, die höchste 3A. Das schaffen lange nicht alle Akkus. Wer hier einen billigen Akku einsetzt wird nicht die vollen 1050 Lumen bekommen. Das liegt aber nicht an der Lampe, sondern daran dass die billigen Akkus bei 3A einbrechen!2. Lampe wird heiss. Ein paar User monieren dass die Lampe in den höheren Stufen heiss wird. Das muss so sein! Wir bewegen uns hier mit mehr als 1000 Lumen in einer so kompakten Lampe eindeutig im Grenzbereich des technisch Machbaren! Die LED erzeugt bei den Leistungen eine Menge Abwärme und dass der Lampenkopf schnell warm wird zeigt dass Thrunite hier die Hausaufgaben gemacht hat und die Wärme schnell nach aussen leitet! Wer eine Lampe sucht die dauerhaft ohne Kühlung fast 1100 Lumen bringt und dabei nicht warm wird braucht eine deutlich größere Lampe. Das ist in so einer kompakten Lampe nicht machbar!3. Die Lampe hat zuwenig Blinkmodi. Ich persönlich finde es sehr gut dass die Lampe keine Blinkmodi (Strobe, SOS; Beacon) in der Normalen schaltreihenfolge hat. Ich persönlich habe auch keine Verwendung für diese Blinkmodi. Der Lampe einen Stern abzuziehen weil sie zuwenige hat, finde ich nicht fair. Zumindest sollte man dann sagen welche Blinkmodi man braucht und warum. Wegen mir bräuchte sie gar keine. Ich hab ein paar Lampen bei denen 2-3 Blinkmodi in der Normalen Schaltreihenfolge liegen. Einfach nur nervig.Alles in Allem ist die Lampe eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
