Gained PTSD Knowledge
Ever since my husband returned from overseas and gotten out of the military, he has struggled with PTSD. He doesn’t like to talk about his experiences and my never being in the military, it’s hard for me to understand and relate to him. I decided to seek books that would help me help him or at least help me understand what may going through his head. That’s when I came across Combat Medic. Even though I will never experience what our service men go through first hand, Sam helped paint a better picture for me. After reading, I passed the book along to my husband. Now I’m not saying that this book has saved my husband but since he finished it he has expressed wishes to seek help. The authors purpose for this book was not to write a story but rather tell the honest, brutal truth of wartime and PTSD and show others that it’s ok to seek help. Worth the read!

we gotta get out of this place...
This is a Combat Medics story of his time in Iraq witnessing, treating and engaging in violent, gory, traumatic encounters. As a result of his wartime experiences the author develops PTSD which affects him and those he encounters in a negative way. He is extremely honest describing his feelings and his attempts to cope and subsequently help others with the same affliction. I thought his descriptions of the battles, actions of his Superior Officers and his actions treating the wounded were excellent and put you right there. The reason I did not give 5 stars were the fact that there wasn't much of an introduction to his story such as where he is from to start the book as well as the need for better editing. His descriptions of boot camp were great and sounded a lot like some scenes from the movie "Full Metal Jacket." Descriptions of his Advanced Medical Training were absent and would have been nice if included. Overall , Combat Medic Boney has quite a story to tell and he addresses an important topic that has to be dealt with. He should be thanked for his service for his Country and fellow Veterans. Recommended.

Heart-wrenching true story!
Love this true story of courage and human vulnerability. S.M. Boney tells it like it is, and people need to know what goes on in war and the terrible aftermath that is PTSD. This book is a must read for social workers, nurses, docs, and counselors as well as for anyone going through PTSD. Thank you, Private Boney for your service and this tell-all book!

Review of Combat Medic by S M Boney IV
Loved the book. Filled with raw emotion. Not too technical that I couldn’t understand. Highly recommend for civilians, like myself, who want to glimpse into the life & mind of a man who gave so much & deserves our empathy & respect.

A Reminder of the High Price Soldiers Pay
Wounded or not, every combat veteran suffers. Our VA system is broken and fails many of them. A compelling story of how one survived combat but almost didn't survive being home.

Deed read
This book will definitely leave you not wanting to put it down. Boney tells his experience of being in combat and the struggle of the war that continues back home in one’s self. I recommend this book to anyone, especially those who have served.I only hope he will write a sequel.

Okay book, TERRIBLE binding.
This book was rather dry and straightforward in its delivery. I didn't feel much if any dramatic tension reading it, or care about the people described. I feel it is quite lacking in delivering a compelling story. But I am especially displeased by it falling apart upon my very first reading. The pages came out as I turned them, numerous times. This is terrible quality. I have 40 year old paperbacks that have not done that. This guy's publisher should be ashamed for delivering such junk to us readers.

Ganz ok
Das Buch gewährt Einblicke in die persönlichen Erfahrungen des Protagonisten die er im Krieg gesammelt hat. Es ist offensichtlich nicht von einem Profi geschrieben, dafür aber gut gelungen.

Great!

Great book
Follows the author through boot camp, to iraq and home again. Where the authors talks about his battle with ptsd. A rather short read but enjoyable.
