I use this torch to start charcoal, start my burn barrel, and to sear after sous vide cooking. Sometimes I even use it to heat parts like bearings or collars in the garage. I’ve had it for 6 months now and it hasn’t skipped a beat. The flame is incredibly hot but can be turned down to a gentle flame. The igniter hasn’t died like most of my other pencil style torches. I saw that other reviews complained about the paint flaking off but mine had a flat finish that looks like nitriding or something of that sort. No issues.

This thing is awesome! A ton of power without being heavy or cumbersome. Helps lighting charcoal and wood for smoking very easy.

I use this torch to light the charcoal on my grill. This is the best way that I know to do this. It only takes like to minutes to get the coals hot.One day I went to fire up a J and could not find a lighter, so I used this torch. I lost both eye brows.

The media could not be loaded. The main reason I bought this was for steaks. Tried sous vide steak before and it was okay, but I couldn't get enough of a crust on the steak after, especially without bringing the steak above rare or medium rare. Saw a YT video from Guga foods about whole milk powder on steaks and they all said it was incredible. I only have a gas grill and can never get good flames like he does on his charcoal grill in that video, so I figured it was finally time to buy a torch and try this milk powder thing right.PROS-The torch is super easy to set up and use. As you can see in the video it takes a couple seconds and can all be done one handed.- It works really well. I've heard that if the device doesn't combust the propane well, it can leave a gross flavor on your steak. I did not even get the faintest gas flavor whatsoever. Also, look at that steak. I'm sure I'll get better at using it, but that's pretty great results for the first try with it, and I gotta say it was one of the most delicious steaks I've ever made.CONS- As you can see in the picture, the paint started to flake off during the first use. They should have either had a higher degree paint or left it unpainted.- I've had this bottle of propane for years for my Creme Brule torch. Connected it and disconnected it a ton of times to fit it back in the box without ever an issue. But for some reason after hooking it to this torch, the can leaks now if disconnected, so I have to have a dedicated propane canister now and never disconnect it.If the cons were flukes and they got me one that fixed both issues or would easily be 5 stars. As it stands though, not a bad purchase I suppose. Will update if they contact me and resolve anything.

This torch is exactly what I was looking for. So many of them are just a pencil like flame. If you are looking for a real flame, this is the one for you. Great for lighting the charcoal in my BGE and equally great for getting a fire started in The fire pit. Customer service is great as well. I had a minor issue and they got back to me very quickly and addressed my issue going above and beyond. I Can’t say enough good things about this product or the customer service from the company. If you want a serious flame, quit looking and buy this item.

My second one of these. I broke the first and this was a less expensive replacement. This one was just as good as the one I broke.

I’m not kidding, I got it to light my campfire and it’s awesome! Who needs kindling when you’ve got a mini blow torch!Oh and it looks like you can use it for cooking too!

this unit worked the first time and does what it is supposed to do. I am hopping that it will last. for now I am happy!!!

I'm Impressed with this thing! Got it at 25$ Canadian dollars. Works perfectly! Really powerful torch! Hope it lasts.I recommend it for sure!At this price point, you can't go wrong!
