Chintzy build & design but does work
The design department should have spent a few more minutes on the design. The compartments are about 1.5 times deeper than a standard suet cake. This means if a bird has a short bill it probably wont be able to peck at the suet except where it leans against the door as it will likely be leaning at an angle. Also, the suet compartments are held on by tabs. Even after pressing on them to tighten the compartments wobble and eventually the tabs will loosen and your suet will be on the ground. If this is all you find at this price then grab it, I however would suggest looking elsewhere.

poorly made product.
I purchased this because my other one was getting old and in poor shape. The night of the first day I received it I put it outside with some nut cakes in it. The next morning I was shocked to find some animal had tore it apart and took the nut cakes and the two metal cages where the nut cakes resided were totally lost I looked all over my yard and I can't find those metal cages. So for me this was a loss of money for me. I think it was very poorly made in order for those cages to be torn off by some animal. So sorry I can't send it back because I don't have the full product.

Good feeder
Good feeder for the money. Thus far, we've seen two types of woodpecker, nuthatches, tits, and chickadees. None of them seem to have difficulty eating from the feeder. Feeder is easy to open and close, and stays closed even in strong winds. The only drawback is that the crows/grackles can still open the feeder with a bit of effort. They're crafty creatures, so I don't count that against the feeder itself, but I mention it since other customers may be looking for grackle-proof items.

Good!
Im getting customers with the suet feeder. So far, its blue jays and finches. I bought this for the woodpecker but he prefers the goodies in the bird feeder..lol Maybe I'll try a different suet cake :) With covid, I love to sit on the deck and look at the different birds feeding. Very soothing for me.

Can't perch
Birds can't seem to find a way to hold on to it - I had to put a metal perch near it for the birds to sit on and reach for the suet. Even the one tiny woodpecker we've gotten can't seem to find a way to grab on to it.
