Solid microphone and great software
I bought this as an 'overkill' solution for a good quality microphone while on work meetings. I'm also using it to record training content for my company. If you listen to the processed audio through the rode connect, it just barely picks up ambient sounds like keyboard typing when you dial it in. I've found that the built-in background noise cancellation for apps like zoom and microsoft teams completely kill this, so the double-processing works very well. This mic isn't technically intended to be used indoors where acoustics without sound dampening will get picked up, but I'm very pleased with the results anyways. the helix mount does a very good job of absorbing vibrations and preventing transfer to the mic input. The rode connect software wasn't super intuitive at first, but after watching a youtube video or two with someone demonstrating how to leverage the virtual channels, it works great.

Excellent on-camera microphone for vlogging.
I have used the Wireless Go 2 mic and the Rode NT1-A studio microphone, and I find the RØDE VideoMic GO II to be a perfect choice for my needs, which include vlogging on YouTube and some podcasts. It is plug-and-play, significantly reducing the time it takes for me to set up and start recording. The microphone is lightweight and delivers excellent sound quality, with a slightly bassy tone that can easily be adjusted with EQ. It’s incredibly user-friendly and compatible with any device, making it very portable. The VideoMic GO II can be mounted using a cold shoe or the quarter-inch thread underneath, and it features a great shock mount. Additionally, it operates without a battery, adding to its convenience.I would recommend this microphone to anyone looking for an on-camera option. It can also be used with a computer or a phone for calls, which is great; you just need the right cable for phone use. Priced reasonably, it’s a fantastic option, especially if you can find a used one.

A Game Changer for On-Camera Audio!
I recently purchased the RØDE Auxiliary VideoMic GO Lightweight On-camera Shotgun Microphone, and I'm absolutely blown away by the difference it has made in my video production quality! As an aspiring content creator, I've always struggled with capturing clear and crisp audio directly from my camera, but this microphone has completely changed the game for me.First and foremost, the lightweight design is perfect for my on-the-go filming style. It doesn't add any significant weight to my camera setup, making it ideal for long shooting sessions or when I'm out and about capturing various scenes. The setup was a breeze too – just plug it into the camera's audio input, and I was good to go!The audio quality is where this microphone truly shines. The shotgun design allows it to focus on the sound directly in front of it while minimizing background noise. I was amazed at how it picked up even the slightest details in my recordings, whether I was filming interviews, tutorials, or outdoor shots. The result? Crystal clear audio that truly enhances the overall viewing experience. One thing I was particularly impressed with is how well it handled outdoor recording. Wind noise can be a nightmare, but the built-in windscreen on this microphone did a fantastic job of minimizing those disturbances. This feature alone has saved me a ton of time in post-production, not having to deal with excessive wind interference.Overall, the RØDE Auxiliary VideoMic GO microphone is a game changer for anyone looking to up their video and audio quality. The lightweight, easy-to-use design combined with outstanding audio performance make it an essential tool in my filmmaking kit. If you're serious about creating top-notch content, do yourself a favor and invest in this microphone – you won't be disappointed!

Great mic!
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a mic that was affordable and easy to use and would Mount properly for use with my DJI osmo action 5 and this fit the bill. I have been what must be 50 ft away at a reasonable speaking volume and this mic still picks up voice and it's able to be lifted in post to a reasonable level. The cold shoe is sturdy enough, it's nice and compact on top of the camera and looks pretty good.Wind noise could probably be better but it's not bad a dead cat would probably help quite a bit.Overall happy with the purchase and would purchase again.

Great value
Quality piece of gear. I used via USB-C with my Galaxy phone and it increased range ... for example when I used Merlin bird ID app it picked up many more birds than with the phone alone. I also used it to capture wedding audio from 30' away. Easy to use.
